Took the words right out of my mouth. Excellent post. IMO Melo probably wants money and winning. He can get both in Chicago but can't get both in New York. Chicago is the logical decision. That being said, it was also the logical decision for LeBron in 2010 but he made his decision, won two titles in four straight Finals appearances and still made a boatload of money. But LeBron did that with Wade and Bosh while Melo won't have anywhere near the same kind of talent in New York this coming season. He could possibly get decent talent around him a year from now but that's a pretty large gamble considering there's no guarantee a marquee guy will (1) be available in 2015 and (2) want to team up with him in New York.

A true leader of this team would have!

**** that...Basketball players recruiting other basketball players? Do you really want the NBA to go down this route? Think about it. Should we start drafting players who are capable of making great sales/recruiting pitch? Let the front office do their jobs.

Has anybody posted this yet?

And of course there is basketball. Anthony has publicly praised Thibodeau, and their Tuesday discussion only increased their mutual respect, sources said. Bulls management soaked up Anthony's professionalism and basketball IQ throughout the nearly nine-hour day. Anthony, in turn, came away impressed by the Bulls' presentation, according to a separate source.

....

Though sources indicated the Bulls didn't discuss money much with Anthony, team officials remain confident they can make the financials work.

Why would Melo not want to come here WITH Gasol if it was contrived. That team would easily be the vegas favorite preseason.

We can just pretend we ran into Melo and be all "Oh, damn, didn't realize you'd be here!"

Or maybe we actually called Leon and set up another meeting.

If Thibs is going to LA for the Gasol visit im sure he can call Leon Rose and setup one last meeting with Melo

5th year hurts you guys

Here's why

A 4 year deal starting at 17M gives him about 70-75 mil over the 5 years

A 5 year deal gets him 90+ over 5 years

I think Phil's max offer will be between 100-110M

So I'm essence it would look like leaving 10-20M on the table instead 30-40M

I love KC's positivity during this whole process.

He's usually as pessimisstic as Nick Friedell. Wait, that's not possible.
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

Hmm, don't think so. Don't think there's been much talk about that Carmelo fella today. Think people forgot all about him

But if he has an opt out, he ran re-up a new deal. Don't forget taxes.

Thank you, sir! My Photoshop skills, while not being as great as the what the Bulls presented yesterday, are improving! Maybe I can get a job in Houston...

NecessaryEvil wrote:SAS said NY or Miami. Im rolling with him. Love should of been the priority. Gasol still makes us better next season. We're bigger than Indiana now and we 'd still have a size advantage over Miami.

Rose / Hinrich
Butler / Snell
Dunleavy / McDermott
Gasol / Gibson
Noah / Smith

I like that team, so far

He's not going to Miami..
