Haha. Wow. Damn, I knew it required maneuvering but I didn't realize it was that dire.

2 things about the draft will always be funny to me.

1: The cameras going to the fans of a team that pretend to be excited about a player they've never heard of.

2: Bill Burr's take on people that watch drafts. By the way, I love watching drafts. Lots of swearing so don't listen to it around the kids lol. The draft interview comment is so spot on.

I don't know enough about our cap situation with vs. without DDR, but if we straight just let him walk all we really, really need to round out the roster somewhat is an athletic center.

We will definitely need shooters and other things longer term, no doubt. But the only hugely glaring hole would be a 5 who can run and elevate.

It's just a bizarre line given we don't really have cap room unless they renounce Demar and PWill. So that leaves S+T stuff or the MLE.

We're waiting to see who is available on the MLE? That doesn't seem like a pivotal factor but hey I'm not a moron. So we'll see what AK does.

So bizarre.

I wouldn't mind putting Javonte on that squad for more athleticism and cutting.

Defense isn't ideal. Buzelis blocks shots but he needs to get A LOT stronger to not get bullied in the post.

Either way, it's an intriguing squad and I might have to tune in next season for what will almost certainly be a more fun team to watch.

Javontae would be fun with Giddey running the show.

We did the same with Ayo, AK said he never worked him out because he was an expected 1st rounder. Worked out great for us.

I'm looking forward to see Giddey grab a rebound and make that long outlet passes like what Lonzo used to do. Caruso would've been a good complimentary player to play alongside Giddey on both ends. This team should definitely run, especially with speedster like Ayo and Coby. If Pat is brought back he should be looking to cut more too.

As much as I hate thinking of Giddey and Vuc sharing the floor. Giddey will be the best post entry passer this team have had since Lonzo. So maybe if that does happen, at least I have something to be curious about the pairing of this 2.

Some quotes from the AK presser. Buckle up, I suppose. Lets see what he can cook up.

There were rumors of a private workout with Buzelis and considerations to trade up to get him.

Edit: Also what's this then?

You listen to someone like Sam Hinkie, and then AK, it's like night and day. It's clear as day one person knows basketball, and the other really doesn't (even though he probably does).
Why so serious?

A few thoughts...

I wanted the Bulls to draft Dalton Knecht, but it wasnt meant to be.

I'm mixed on Buzelis, but now that he's here I wish him well.

It's interesting that Filipowski didn't get picked in the first round.

I'm also surprised that the Spurs traded the 8th pick for future picks. I wonder what they'll do in free agency?

Guys I'm interesting in seeing where they go in the 2nd round (if they go there that is):

Kyle Filipowski
Johnny Furphy
Tyler Smith
Bobi Klintman
Juan Nunez
Ulrich Chomche
Nikola Djurisic
Justin Edwards
Tyler Kolek
Trentyn Flowers

Wonder if the Bulls will be there or if AKME are done with the draft.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy. :kissmybutt:

Poor conditioning leading to a lower shooting % than previously shown was an easy factor to consider, yet I overlooked it.

I like Matas A LOT.

I think that was just his personal workout. I don't believe that was a Bulls one.

Ah, there it is.

Regardless, I'm sure AK did his research on his countrymen. Sidenote, I didn't realize how much basketball is in this kids blood. Not only we're both of his parents players, but his grandparents played professionally in Lithuania too. Ridiculous pedigree.

His dad also worked with the Lithuanian national team for years and now is a private physiotherapist of Jonas Valanciunas, which led to Matas having a special connection with JV.

I didn't like the pick at all. Another athletic wing who can't shoot... same profile as Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry. I'm so tired of AK... so predictable. He really makes me miss GarPax, at least when it comes to drafting players. If he makes me miss those clowns, it means AK is really, really, REALLY bad at his job.

Thank god Memphis took my guy Edey; otherwise, it would have been even harder to swallow.

Matas is skilled, but I think the odds of him being a bust are greater than the odds of him becoming a star. I can't see him as a starter in this league or being a difference-maker. If the plan is to tank, I'm okay with a lineup of Coby, Ayo, PWill, Matas, and Vuc. I really want to trade Vuc for a bag of chips and some second-rounders. If we trade him, maybe I'll watch a game or two next season. I'm so pissed at this team.

Feels like if this continues the NBA's second round is going to become an afterthought that no one watches. It was already an afterthought, to an extent, but it was also an "after party." That had value.

Presidential Debate is the reason why it's in the afternoon. They didn't want to take away from that. Not like anyone really cares on this board, but still...

That Spurs trade is such a head scrather to me. A pick swap in 2030 and an unprotected 1st in 2031 for the 8th overall pick

Spurs doing some early scouting on the highschool class of 2028? There some middle school phenom out there?
