Source close to me says LeBron to Chicago

It sounds like Doug is hedging quite a bit on this making me question the reliability of this information. If Doug himself was unsure about positing it, why should we be sure about believing it?

Probably because everyone and their mom has a source that says LeBron is going somewhere. Doug personally doesn't think LBJ is coming here, or at least doesn't want to believe that he is, but since the source is someone close to him and someone he apparently trusts, he wants to share it with us.

Sorry for speaking on your behalf Doug, but Doug doesn't seem like the type of person to share sketchy information just in order to draw attention to him and get "credit" if he's right. He's sharing this information because it's credible and it's from a source he trusts.

While I'm not a frequent poster, I've been on this forum and reading it often every day.

Doug is not a guy to throw BS against a wall and see what sticks. Whoever he talked, he feels is close enough to the situation to warrant mentioning it (and he's obviously really torn on that).

Let's hope is source is correct.

There's no reason to suspect this source is any more accurate than other real journalist's sources, but we also know Doug wouldn't put his reputation out there if he really didn't hear this from somebody who would actually know something. That doesn't mean this is the correct source only that this is a bit more than the many fans/posters who've claimed they "have a source."

I am actually of the mindset that there is a reason to believe a source such as this over "other real journalist's" because each and every other journalist stands to make (or lose out on) a profit from writing such articles. Doug is not getting paid to say this (as far as I know). That's one less credibility-damaging-agenda in play, and I think that should be seen as relatively significant.

As it was posted on a previous page, Doug has been adamant about not believing we had a chance at Lebron. He also doesn't aimlessly throw sources out there. It would take a lot for him to post it. Not saying the source is absolutely right, but if Doug has that type of faith in him, I trust the accountability of the source.
