Props to Lu for tonight and overall a good defensive effort from the team despite so many fouls.

Rose: 6 turnovers that almost let the Blazers back in the game. He was also passive in the second quarter when the Blazers were coming back.

Noah: Aldrige owned him on multiple occasions.

All's well that ends well :D

I don't think I ever saw Pip play that bad of defense. :)

Rerisen wrote:Lastly, I want to highlight Thibs coaching style, hands on and active, I think it really helps with a young team like this. He keeps the intensity of the team on the floor up, and puts constant pressure with his yelling to keep them doing the right thing. Especially when our bench is on the same side as we are defending, guys cannot get lazy with him practically bum rushing the floor with his arms outstretched. I don’t know if he can keep it up for 82, but so far, he’s doing a great job.

I noticed that at Saturday's game. When we were playing defense in front of our bench, Thibs was practically on the court telling players what to do, where to put their hands, how to stand. It was kinda funny but also pretty impressive because you see the players react in a split second to what he's saying/demonstrating. Reminds me of my high school bball coach. He was always in our face.

I think the "meh's" for Rose were his 6 turnovers. He got himself in trouble multiple times by overdribbling or failing to read the trap.

But, he was also vital with his decision making and finding shooters. He understood what his role was tonight and that was to be a facilitator. He was also efficient from the floor and was able to get to the line. He'll do whatever it takes to win, even if it means not getting "his" on offense. Love his attitude.

We can look at his assists, FG%, TS%, turnovers, mid-range %, 3 pt%, etc all we want, but the most important stat in his eyes and the most important stat for this team is wins. However we get them I don't really care. Tonight was a little ugly at times, but this was a win against a quality team. Actually, it was more like domination for most of the game as the closest Portland came was 7 points I believe.

The one thing I don't want Rose to do though is ignore his mid-range game because he wants to prove his 3 point shot. He seems to be forcing it a little bit too much right now instead of playing to his strengths and what makes him efficient on offense. Take the 3 if it's open, but don't force it. I'd rather see him force the mid-range shot because he's shown he's really good at it.

nothing beats signing a coach who's got a ring on his finger and is hungry for his own being under head coach. I think the players really respect thibs which is a great thing. Keep Deng healthy and were looking damn good.

I wanted to write a little "postgame analysis" as well, but I'm not sure if this thread is what it was supposed to me.

Yeah, this was an epic failure.

Butterfly effect man. LA may have been just good enough to make it so the Bulls wouldn't have drafted Noah and Rose.

The most exciting thing tonight was all the easy baskets, and the way they were always able to keep the Blazers on their heels. Everyone was running. Great stuff. Noah was great offensively tonight, the stats say 4 baskets and 4 assists, but he was pushing the tempo more than anyone all night. Love it.

I think Rose was set this game just to pass it. I wouldnt say he was passive, but he definitely wasnt looking for his offense. I think he said..good Luol showed up today, I can relax a bit.
