Work a S&T deal now with Asik and Korver going to Houston and Kevin Martin coming to Chicago.

I remember chatting with Omer at the Deerfield Whole Foods about six months ago. I suppose he won't be buying his own groceries very much anymore.

If Bulls match, which Gar Forman has consistently said the Bulls plan to do, guarantees Boozer would be amnestied for 2014-15 season.

I don't see a reason why Houston would work out a sign and trade. They gain nothing by it and neither does Asik.

I really have no issue with the Bulls not paying the tax. My issue with the Bulls is not paying the tax and then being dumb with their money, forcing themselves into bad situations later. Even if Asik is a $15M expiring, I think it might be BYC and in trade, the Bulls would have to take back a lot. Between Boozer, Rose, Noah and Asik, the Bulls would have $60M tied up in 4 players (two of which play the same position).

The Bulls simply can't match this. If they do, they are flaming idiots who will pay dearly for the decision in 2014/15, the prime of Derrick's career.

By my reading, most Asik can get on 3-year deal is $23.1M. Breaks out 5.0 yr 1, 5.2 yr 2, 12.9 yr 3.

Link?

So there are like 3 different reports now....

Asik's value will diminish a little bit, not a ton. His value as a trading chip would be the same value he would have to us in terms of resigning him. He's not only a rotational player on reasonable pay in the first 2 years, but you have his last year as a GIGANTIC expiring contract. Even if he sucks, that expiring will still be valuable as an expiring.

I'm not sure what kind of player we could get back. If we were talking ten million that last year, I'd buy that argument. But 15 million? Yikes, thats max salary territory. Only the clinically insane would trade a stud for Asik and his expiring contract.

It hasn't been signed yet so the Bulls have 9 days to discuss trade with the Rockets?

Matching this contract is the type of deal that gets GM's fired. Given the harsher luxury tax penalties in the upcoming years, the front office would have to be out of their damn fool minds to keep Omer at this point.

I beleive so.

I dont think thats a capspace year for us.

Thought so and KC just explained it best. We'll amnesty Boozer the last year of his deal.

Offer sheet will be for $25.1 million over four years. Bulls will have three days to match after signed July 11.

DRose scheduled to make $17.8 million and Boozer scheduled to make $16.8 million in season Asik's deal would jump near $15 million.

Boozer won't be here.

I'd bet my account he is.

Why shouldn't bulls match? The 3rd year is expiring contact if bulls decide to trade him.

If Asik wasn't moved, by the time 3rd year kick in, Deng's contact is off the book and Boozer's last year contact might be amnesty or buyout or traded.

Bulls is saved by Arenas rule.

Who pays a 4th big man 8+ million a year? Love ya, Omer, but enjoy Houston.
