I like many other would have gone with a wing (Mikal Bridges or Kevin Knox), but I'm not bummed with the pick. Skilled big man, very smart, one of the younger players in the draft. Lets get to work.

Do big things Carter!

I just don't see how a big man who is limited athletically is the 7th pick in today's NBA.

Building around two low ceiling, defensively mediocre bigs, a point guard who can't shoot, and a shooting guard with no IQ. Sure why not. Whatever.

He'll be solid, even if it's a vanilla pick.

Thats gonna be his biggest issue. Teams are gonna try to force him into perimeter defending with screens. Hes not that versatile defender that alot of the bigs playing late in games seem to be.

Boring pick, low ceiling, undersized, no special talents...not excited

You have Gar Forman and John Paxson at the helm. The ONLY reason they even sniffed success was because of an EXTREMELY lucky lottery ball bounce. Outside of Rose, it's been all 'eh'.

This thread is gonna be hilarious when Bamba's doing nothing.

Carter is so skilled, and under the radar only because of Duke strategies.

Carter is a bruiser. Not a star. Not gonna move the needle, just a solid big. These guys are not rare to find

Carter is always going to struggle to defend the PnR. Just doesn't have the lateral quickness.

Chauncey compared him to Boozer. Not a terrible comparison.

This pick doesn't move the needle for us at all. We'll be back in the high to mid lottery next year. Maybe we'll get it right then.

Really disappointed we didn't move up for Doncic, Jackson, or Bamba. Hell, I would have rolled the dice on Porter before taking Carter.

This kid is 19 and everyone in this thread is acting like he's hit his ceiling.

Sheesh. WCJ is a safe pick, but let's not act like he's some 4 year senior with athleticism questions. He played in the shadow of Bagley all season.

He's as much of a development project as JJJ. This is why I don't **** with this board so much anymore. GarPax could have tried to swing for a HR with MPJ, but maybe they truly believe Lauri is the cornerstone and are comfortable with a player with a high floor?

We should have grabbed MPJ, then stashed him for a year a la The Process and received another high pick next year when the kid's "ready"

But they won't be a pain to score on.

LaVine will surely shut them down on the perimeter.

Boozer would be great. He’s Taj Gibson 2.0. A fkn waste of a pick. WASTE
