The problem, and also the plan, was we started all rookie contract squad with Zach - it had just mediocre or bad defenders piled together. If you took just any of Wendell, Pwill, Lauri or Coby off and replaced with Thadd, Temple or Sato, the starting line-up was likely to be better and rotations more balanced. But no, you have to keep shoveling this idiotic story-line everywhere. (And also if you do @ this as i fully expect, I won't go on further bc it's useless.

Well, enough of thatl. For me the biggest part of the game was to be able to overcome short lapses of concentration and quickly enough to produce another smaller or bigger run to keep the game under control. If we can do this against Raps and especially hawks it's starting to look real good.

Anybody else notice the resemblance Jakarr Sampson has to young Lebron James? From certain angles he looks a lot like young LBJ. He played well for them tonight also but had 4 fouls in 12 minutes. lol

Kudos to patW who had his best defensive game in a while (IMO)

Rebounding is an underrated phase of the game.

Hey Billy, please draw up a play against the 2-3 zone.

Coby had a few nice plays but he just irritates me with his defense.

Coby doesn't give an ounce of effort to fight through screens.

And certainly we can talk about how he isn't a lead initiator/PG, but he also just doesn't understand how to make the smart play on offense, but I agree that he did have some nice plays tonight.

I guess Zach is still playing through that sore ankle. Elevation hasn't been there on his jumper, so it explains it.

Zach will be fine..

The 2 man game is still a WIP but I liked what I saw tonight for the most part.

Also being able to change it up and to inside for easy looks and put the defence in two minds is a very very odd feeling to watch.

As a matter of fact it's still weird to me seeing Vucevic in a Bulls jersey, I've was always a fan of his game from the outside in Orlando and never even thought he'd be a possibility to wear a Bulls jersey.

You mean "facts"? LMAO, yeah they suck for Lauri's lovers.

None of them had a problem constantly posting that "Lauri is a 7-footer who shoots over 40% from behind the arc and has a TS% of 65%". Even though he only did it over 14 GAMES.

The facts that make Lauri look good are awesome, any facts that don't make him look good are an "idiotic story-line (sic)".

What did we see in this thread:

"Vuc got 29 shots tonight, Lauri can never get that many" (paraphrased). If people stop with the stupid Lauri-loving, people like me would quit pointing out his flaws.

And if people would quit making excuses as to why Lauri hasn't improved since his rookie year, people like me would.... ah screw it, we almost certainly only have 23 more games plus the playoffs to listen to people whine about how the Bulls are mistreating and misusing Lauri.

Even though he seems to be very effective as a scorer off the bench, because to quote Lauri "I know I'm a starter in this league".

I don't really think that matters at this point with this squad. Whoever is on the floor they need to ball against the same way they get up for a top seeded team. Every team in the league is dealing with injuries or covid scratches and the Bulls have managed to drop quite a few games to teams in that situation.

They won this handily as they should with no hero ball from Zach needed

If Zach ever did this:

Ankle is still an issue? This was more serious than just a grade 1 sprain.

Don't we have 3 back to backs in April? They should manage his health carefully.

Yeah I don't get it, people act like this should have been an easy win... but we were 2-pt favorites and won by 16. I can take something out of that LOL.

We should go back to the game thread and see how many people had us winning easily before the game started. Nothing against MGB8, maybe he had us winning by double-digits?

I know it seems like I've never seen a "we won easily, we should have" poster predict an easy win BEFORE the game.

I like our team. Coby 21 years old, Laurie is 23/24, Pat 19. Grow up with Zack and V.

I thought he killed it tonight with the rotations. Helps to have NBA players available at the wing.

It was a tighter 8 player rotation. It’s better when they use less guys especially for tough games or playoffs but the bulls actually have options on the bench and would be hard to do just 8 all the time.

Donovan basically only chose to leave Valentine out compared to other games, Theis and Temple weren’t available. The 10 player rotation has been a bit of a problem though so far and that’s why some have criticized Donovan for it.Not necessarily the players faults but all those subs take the team out of rhythm. Maybe better chemistry is needed who knows but a tighter rotation usually works better.

Says a guy that just admonished another poster for not discussing today's game, solely. You are just hopeless :noway:

Markkanen actually had a very good game. The execution at both ends was perhaps the best this season.

edit: here's the quote from you:

There is absolutely no doubt that at this point, Coby is nothing more than a backup guard. But WTF does that have to do with TONIGHT'S GAME??

I thought a POST-GAME thread is where you discuss, you know, THE GAME that just happened. And Coby played well tonight.

It’s a relief for all Bulls nation to not need 35 from Zach every night to squeak by teams. If we can get around 50 combined from those two we will be position to win most games if the supporting cast keeps playing well.

That was definitely one of Lauri’s best games of the season, mixing up shots, moving without the ball, rebounding in traffic, etc. Damn he’s frustrating.

Nice to see Patrick Lee Williams have a “early season” defensive game. Still needs to be more aggressive on the glass.

In checking the ESPN play by play sequence (which you find in the gamelog) the Pacers only converted on 1 possesion out of 20 turnovers. That is beyond bad but it also makes you think how much larger the point difference would have been if we had converted on say 50% of those 20 possesions. Bear in mind Zach is still not 100% and we are still missing Temple as the glue guy.
So there is plenty of room for optimism.
