Still too much TO and giving up second chance opportunity to the Nets.
The offense definitely look better with the starters on the floor.

You never know with this team. They are really good at closing out the half and later quarters because of how they can score in bunches. I've been impressed.
Problem I see tonight, this Nets team is younger too and also like to run ... so I'm not sure if they'll tire out like some of other bigger/older teams
Se what I mean, they did again. Even with that last second tip fo BK, Bulls offense just ripped into that lead and it's single digits at half now.
Hopefully they start missing because they are doing whatever they want on offense.

Thing is we can get this game close and I trust our defense more than whatever the nets can do. I also trust our players down the stretch of this game more than the nets players. Winnable game just hoping our ways of always getting behind don't finally catch up to us.

Their youngsters are destroying ours. 28 bench points at halftime. Bulls bench 13.

First DNP for Matas tonight. He’s definitely not playing in the second half unless we get blown out.

Re: Bulls @ Nets 6:30 CT
Reality we have to accept is if you're a fan that likes to see good, hard, disciplined defense possession by possession, you'll never get that with this team. And hey, I'm someone that loves that. But we wanted to see something different, and I give a lot of credit to Billy, this is something different! And it's showing itself successful. Those 5 seconds or less Phoenix teams did not have much defense (basically just one starter in Marion that could play hard every possession and occasionally some guys off bench). But they played a winning brand of basketball, and it was fun to watch.
I'm stubborn, was hugely skeptical of this team transforming into an enjoyable and winning structure ... but I am already waiving white flag I was wrong. Not saying they are playoff bound, but I guess I get what Billy is putting down.
And while this team is horrible defensively ... I think they actually have shown full team ability to buckle down and play solid defense in important (albiet) short spurts. That's largely because they have Williams and Ayo ready to be stoppers and focus on defense when needed ... and also because Coby and Lavine are playing like veterans that will at least be average/above-ave for that spurt. And I also think Vuc defense when it matters is "better" and he's fitting into some organized team defense for those stretches. Especially his rebounding.

He plays decent defense. People said he played excellent defense on Giannis and banchero when both of them still scored a ton. His defense hasn't been great enough to justify him remaining on that floor stinking up the place.

I'm not sure we'll ever become much better of a full 48-minute defense. But we could still have a lot of room to grow across the season from turnovers alone.
We were down 16 points with 4 minutes left. +8 in those final 4 (and basically +10 except that buzzer beating tip). Yes, Lavine and White dropping buckets. But there were also some stops and defensive rebounds preventing 2nd chance points (you don't go +8 without some stops). Biggest difference from rest of game, no turnovers. That's when this team goes on awesome runs, when they take care of ball -- they can shoot and miss, that's not big deal ... but not getting a shot because of a turnover gets them behind.

Terrible shot by LaVine and didn’t get back o defense.
We were doing alright on defense until that play.

I get annoy with the low IQ plays. Leaving a guy under the basket by himself.

At some point, I'm not sure what to call decent defense when guys are scoring 38 points on 23 shots against him. I kinda get the effort thing, but if someone plays with a lot of effort and shoots 1-15, is that decent offense?
At some point Pat has to hold a high scoring guy to a low scoring game to earn this title of great defender, we wouldn't be calling Coby a great scorer if he was averaging 8 ppg. At some point, the effort has to translate to the scoreboard. Stats say our defense is only 1 point better when Pat is out there vs Giddey.
