Re: Buy Low Candidate?
I've always liked Corey Kispert - felt he's kind of been a forgotten man in Washington as they've prioritize other young wings during his time there.
Career 61% TS% over 4 years.
Felt he's thought of as just a shooter, which he is good at and is a worthwhile skill - but he can shoot off movement. Has really good offball movement whether it's getting open for 3 or cutting to the basket.
It's easy to imagine a scenario where Washington has not been an ideal place for a young player to develop or get put in the best situation.

Mathurin seems like a logical guy you might be able to pry away cheaply. I'm not a huge fan but he definitely has talent and is kind of a poor system fit in Indiana.
I'd love to get Reed Shepherd but I don't see Houston giving him up.

I doubt Indy wants to give him up at this point. They are going to run it back with this team. I can't see many changes.

Re: Buy Low Candidate?
These guys may or may not be available, but perusing the rosters around the league these are the names that caught my eye that could possibly not be in their team's long term plans, in no specific order:
- Jaime Jaquez, good rookie year but had his minutes reduced in year 2
- Nikola Jovic, probably not available but worth mentioning
- Jett Howard, former high pick who probably sucks but might be worth a look
- Julian Strawther, another guy who's probably not available but worth mentioning
- Rob Dillingham, high pick who struggled to get minutes
- Nikola Topic, missed season with injury and will be returning to a stacked title contender, might not have minutes for him
- Scoot Henderson, has mostly been a bust up to this point
- Keyonte George, low IQ chucker but he has talent
- Dalton Knecht, started off great but the Lakers seemed to phase him out after that trade fell through
- Keegan Murray, probably not available
- Reed Sheppard, another high pick who struggled to get minutes
- GG Jackson, showed a lot of promise but then got hurt and might have fallen through the cracks
- Trey Murphy, almost certainly not available but I'd love to make a run at him

Yeah but Jalen Williams and Tyrese Haliburton were both recent #12 picks which means we are guaranteed a superstar NBA-Finalist if we stay put.
Five minutes ago you said there were no guarantees.
Dude, that last post was sarcasm. I don’t believe a word of it.
The fact that you needed to point that out.

I'd rather have literally any player in the league than him. He's cooked 10 times over.

Probably Pat, but that's from the perspective that, as a fan of another team, I wouldn't know nearly as much about him. I would look at his draft pedigree, prototypical frame, hyped up defense, and misleading 40% 3-point percentage prior to this season and think he could be a reclamation project. But then again, that contract would make me change my mind.
That's probably what we're doing with a lot of these buy low candidates, looking at them with general info while lacking the inside scoop that fans of their team would know.
Ayo could be one too, easy to see him as a 3&D plug-n-play role player for any team.

It's hard to see Pat as a buy low candidate when he has 4 years remaining on a contract that pays him well above what he produced last year.
Ayo and Jalen Smith are our buy low candidates.

In all seriousness, if the Bulls could use the Blazers pick to grab Cam Whitmire, I'm all in.

I would be fine with a Ben Simmons swap with Patrick Williams.

Re: Buy Low Candidate?
I realized I had somehow gone this whole thread without my usual recommendation of Kai Jones.
Kai most recently bounced around between the Clippers and Mavs. Spotrac has him listed as an unrestricted free agent.
No one on our team can run the floor, finish lobs, or block shots like Kai Jones
Kai is 24 years old - you want to be younger and more athletic? He's probably one of the most atheltic guys in the entire NBA
