He hasn't been given the opportunity because he hasn't played well enough when he did get the opportunity. If he was playing well he would stay in games longer. You can't play someone when there 1-7 from the field in limited minutes and really have no clear way to score points on a consistent basis.

When you look at Tyrus starts you see no consistency in his offense. Thats because he has no clue how he going to score when he is going into games. He 35% on jump shots for the year. He is 34% on what is considered close shots. If its not a dunk its not efficient for him.

You could live with Tyrus and hope he develops if you had Yao Ming next to him. When Noah is next to you your putting a ton of pressure on your perimeter players. Not only do they need to have big games to win but do it while teams put most of the focus on them.

That's funny, I almost remember him starting the year at Starting PF for a team that was suppose to contend for the East. During the Toronto game... Skiles' benched all the starters even though Tyrus wasn't have horrible game but because the starting 5 weren't getting it done(Tyrus was in foul trouble early that game). He then got sent to the bench to try to help the VETS and that's where the problems started for Tyrus and his bouncing of minutes which more then likely led to hurt and angry feelings which seems not out of the question when EVERYONE was doing bad early on yet he was singled out since he wasn't a vet yet.

If you watched the games, you saw Tyrus force a lot of shots in his small amount of times, probably in hopes of doing well enough to get more minutes... but what he did was just make himself look worse.

Thats because Tyrus has the pressure to score because of the limitations of the Bulls front court offensively. There is a ton of pressure on Tyrus to suddenly become this offensive PF. That wouldn't be the case if there was another scorer next to him. Then he could be a new age Ben Wallace just blocking shots, getting steals, playing great defense. With no one scoring next to him then he knows if he doesn't show something offensively quick then he probably going to sit the bench.

Neither one (especially Tyrus) has ever been given a chance to.

I agree. However, the point of the thread and these questions is do you think Noah and Tyrus can play together. Richboy had a good point that neither one has proven to be much of a scorer. I pointed out that it was pretty common that they were the two least able to score players on the floor for the Bulls last season.

Assuming we draft Rose (because if Beasley is drafted, it will completely change the front court dynamic), I think it is a fair statement to say that, out of the following units, Tyrus and Noah are the least effective or 2 out of the 3 least effective offensive players.

Rose/Gordon/Deng/TT/Noah
Rose/Hinrich/Deng/TT/Noah
Rose/Gordon/Thabo/TT/Noah
Rose/Hinrich/Thabo/TT/Noah
Hinrich/Gordon/Deng/TT/Noah
etc.

I know they each have some skills and will make a few hoops/moves each game. It is a legitimate question whether you can afford to have your two worst players both in the front court together unless one or both become better finishers and savvier at a minimum.

They do need to get the opportunity, however, which just underscores a major disappointment from last season.
