Walk in, let him know he's healthy. Offer to work out, play 1-1 or whatever to prove it. Say face to face that he just wants to win. Pretty easy stuff really.

Nice avy. Is that near Flagstaff?, Sedona? Antelope Canyon, near Page? Looks like one of my favorite places in AZ.

That's fine and good (seen it btw), so he's let Noah the extrovert do all the heavy lifting the whole way, and even lead the charge in the last pitch. Just show up and say:

"I'm healthy man. I just want to win championships. There's no doubt we can get there if you join us."

Something like that. That's it. It's not a big sacrifice for anyone. That's all I ask, and maybe he is behind the scenes.

Yeah, lets call our star player a clown because he doesn't want to kiss Melo's ass ... In fact, lets start a petition for Rose to be traded as soon as possible ... After all, we won't be needing him, once we sign the GOAT, better known as Carmelo Anthony ...

Since you are very familiar with this type of things, can you tell me how many star players has MJ recruited for the Bulls in the late 80's, before winning 6 titles?

Showing up and talking to Melo to discuss Rose's health, how Melo and Rose would work with each other on offense, what the city is like, etc. is not ass kissing. Its being a reasonable and responsible member of the organization.

The Rose recruiting thing is going a little far because its based on just a few quotes and speculation but man, if Noah or the Bulls ask Rose to help and he says no . . . that would be bad.

Actually Noah is hurting the odds of acquiring Melo more than Rose.

By demanding the Bulls keep Taj he has limited the avenues by which we can acquire Melo.

I would prefer a player who said the below and was hands off then made such demands that handcuffed the FO:

"I love Melo's game," Rose said. "He's a great player. Takes the game serious. He's consistent. He shoots the ball great. I love his heart.

"I can play with anybody, no matter who it is. I believe I can play with anyone if they step on the court with me."

For all that we know, Rose might have already contacted Melo giving him a clear indication of his fitness level and his willingness to accept him as a team-mate ... Just because he is not doing it as a part of some modern day reality TV show, it doesn't means that he hasn't already sent the right signals ...

In the private sector, co worker recruiting is quite common. In sports, its ultra common. Outright expected and has been for as long as anyone can remember.

Let's not paint this as some new, strange thing overall. It may be relatively new for professional sports in the US because full unrestricted free agency wasn't around decades ago but at the lower levels, recruiting is crazy for top level athletes.

But like I said, a lot of this is based on speculation. We have no idea what contact has occurred and is occurring. Crucifying Rose based on a few quotes and rumors is unnecessary.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. Haven't there been reports that Melo's received word that Rose would welcome him on the team? Couple that with Rose's quotes on Sunday on how Melo is a great player, a competitor, loves his heart, is consistent and takes the game serious.

That's pretty high praise from a guy who usually isn't very definitive in his statements.

As has been said many times, this is based on the assumption that Melo would agree to join that team. The primary reason why Melo would be walking away from NY and that extra $30M is to join an immediate contender. If you go the capspace route, you forgo Taj and the MLE and create a team that can't win in year 1.

Maybe Melo would join that team anyways but let's not pump up the chances of that occurring. The Bulls overall chance of getting Melo isn't great. The chances of them dumping Taj, a bunch of players for depth and the MLE and then getting Melo to sign on are very, very small.

Demanding? I don't think Noah has the power to actually determine the future of the roster. He can express his feelings. That's all.

Also, it's management's choice who comes to the recruiting meeting. I don't think Taj should be there, but that's just my opinion. He should not be untouchable in discussions to acquire Melo.

I am not saying that Rose shouldn't make a contact with Melo, if he rates him as a player and as a person, and if he wants him in Chicago ... In fact, I am pretty much certain that such a contact has already occurred, of course through the right channels ... Not everything has to be done in public in front of the cameras ... Noah likes the spotlight, and he obviously thrives when the media attention is on him ... On the other hand, Rose is completely the opposite ...

Camela-la will be back in NY faster than a ny minute if they offer him the max. Lala will always go for the money and bright lights.

You keep saying this and it's just so delusional. Do you really think the FO is letting Jo make personnel decisions for the Bulls? If Taj staying is a prerequisite, it is that of the FO's, or even Melo's and not just because it's what Jo wants.

Exactly...If Noah/Bulls have heard from Melo that he wants no part of the front-court for long periods of play and he wants backend support on defense so that he is not beaten up...it is the Taj+Noah combo.

Melo has seen the impact of having bad defenders at PF in NY with Amare, Bargnani etc.. He has had shoulder injuries for two years now plus he is approaching 30 when healing times for injuries start taking longer times after 10 years of being the focus.

I don't know...it is just common sense for a Melo at this stage of his career to plan how to be effective in the future and know his strengths/weaknesses. The biggest reason he is considering the Bulls is because he doesn't want to do it alone or with one or two guys.
