The NY situation is pretty cool for someone like Bron BUT when was the last time they even had a winning season? Dude said he just wants to win (just like Joakim and Rose always seem to say) so going to NY? I'm not saying they couldn't win @ some point but D'antoni is not the right coach for a title team. You're gonna have to play defense at some point.

well of course he says he wants to win..what else is he going to say? Even if he signs in NY he'll say he was sold on the future and the fact that he can win. He won't come out saying he signed with them to schmooze with rich folks.

Right...

Well...who knows

Gallo, Chandler, Douglas...S&T Lee...

They have a few options.....no point in really counting them out I suppose.

That's really the whole point.

I think we have a legit shot at Lebron. Which is more that I thought before the season ended. But right now we really can't count out anyone, it's all on Lebron.

We can keep on hoping though.

I dont think it is all about "winning" for LeBron.
LeBron loves just being LeBron & being adored as LeBron.
The King loves status & the Yankees & moving in elite circles.
Based on the above, New York seems like the pinnacle for him.
I just cant bet against the Knicks.

To be honest, if this was said at the start of this season I would agree.

But with the way the media and anyone basketball affiliated has blasted LeBron on his commitment to winning, and his desire to win over the last 2 weeks. I seriously doubt he's going to the Knicks or any team thats is significantly worse than the Cavs for that matter. LeBron is very image concious, that is one thing WE DO KNOW. Anyone questioning LeBrons desires and motives is nothing more than speculative at this point. But what we do know is he cares about his perception, and he cares about his legacy. With that said, I think it's a 2 team race with the Bulls and Cleveland..

If he's going to a lesser team it's going to be the Brooklyn Nets, its the same NY market, including with his buddy Jay-Z, a billionaire owner, ability to sign 2 max players, a new arena being built as we speak(can be called the house LeBron built), and young valueable pieces moving into the future.

Out of Cleveland,Chicago,New York, NJ and the Heat.. I would rank the Knicks the lowest at this point.

Did anyone watch Sports Center just now? I was just overhearing something about Lebron wanting to pick either Miami or Chicago and not NY because he wants to win now.

This might be out of context of course, I just wanna know if anyone else heard it. :-?

It was reported on SportsCenter that sources close to LeBron told them that if he's leaving Cleveland he will only consider Chicago or Miami because he want a place to win now and not be the media attention that he will receive in New York.

ESPN is only saying that because they "hate the Knicks." You know ESPN and how much they despise east coast athletic teams.

Oh I know, ESPN is notorious for their midwest bias.

From LeBron's perspective, the best potentially achievable situation (in terms of winning now and in the future) would be for him and Wade to both come to Chicago. That way he could have the best of Miami and Chicago. Bulls would have to figure out a way to dump Deng (and Hinrich, too, in all likelihood) for cap space, but that seems doable given the many teams with cap space who are not going to be attractive FA destinations. We could give away draft picks to make it happen, since we would be picking in the 28-30 range for the foreseeable future anyway if we could get both LBJ and Wade.

Bring in Cal and run his dribble drive offense with LBJ, Wade and Rose handling the ball, and Noah and Gibson dunking, rebounding and tipping in putbacks. Unstoppable. Dynasty ensues.

Get 'er done Pax.

i could see a deng s+t for bosh unlikely if it was wade plus we would be too perimeter oriented

The issues with LBJ/Wade/Rose on a team would be:

1. Each of them needs the ball. The best way to solve this would be to run Cal's dribble drive offense. In fact, we would need that offense to take advantage of everyone's skills. Makes hiring Cal more sensible. Which makes everyone happy. Plus, they have done it on Team USA, so this is not undoable; it's just so rare outside that context for so much wing talent to be on one team.

2. LBJ and Wade have big egos and would prefer to win championships on their own, so to speak. Well, both of them have seen how that works. Both need to curb their egos a bit if they truly want to win multiple championships.

It would certainly be entertaining.
