I would trade the entire roster for Harden.

Westbrook to Charlotte makes way too much sense to me. Rozier and Zeller straight up would make Houston so much better.

I hate it for Charlotte but I also don't care about the Hornets, so I'm fine with this. But I'd make it Rozier/Batum at least. Zeller us at least valuable in theory, Batum and the Hornets have given up on each other.

Hornets get Westbrook without giving up one less Ball suitor unless they trade it for another all star

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
Would do something like Lavine/Young/Gafford/4th pick/2022 pick(top 10 protected) for Harden
Gives Houston young cheap prospects in 4th and Gafford. An asset in Lavine that they can keep or flip for more assets. They get Young that they can include with someone like Covington or Gordon to get more assets. Think the owner and front office realize this isnt going anywhere need to rebuild and strip down for assets.
For Bulls think Harden would make White/Lauri/Carter so much better with all the attention he draws and his amazing passing abilty. Can see a uptempo squad that can also play in the halfcourt and make noise in the playoffs. Then see what we can do in FA and with trades

I think that's more a product of #4, a draft with question marks at every pick and the lack of information coming from the Bulls. People are free to post any rumor and since they aren't genuine journalists nobody is going to come back in 6 months and say how wrong some blogger/podcaster was.
Having the 4th pick helps, but it also helps when journalists and "inside sources" know that the Bulls now have a capable and imaginative front office. By all accounts, no one has an inkling what the Bulls actually plan to do. But when you have AKME in charge rather than GarPax, it makes sense to include the Bulls in all the rumors. Because they might do anything.

I feel like that isn't too far off market, but more than I'd be willing to offer.

Would love it personally for Zach and for basketball knowledge related reasons. Dallas has nothing to offer though.

Call me crazy but I would rather trade for CJ McCollum over Harden, mostly due to value you'd have to pay. I can't see Harden going for less than this year's pick and two future 1sts. That gamble is too rich for my blood bringing in a moody superstar on an uncertain roster.

When I think of all the (semi-realistically) possible things that could get everyone to turn on AKME the quickest, trading significant assets for Westbrook might just be #1.

i like mayberry a lot but that article is the product of someone real desperate for content to produce. also
is that obvious??? clearing westbrook's atrocious three-year contract for two solid players on short deals feels like something houston should be happy with
Obviously, the Rockets would say no to an Otto Porter Jr.-Thaddeus Young proposal.

Yeah, his value (for that contract) is an interesting balance. I'd go Otto, WCJ, Felicio - which works $wise.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
i love russ and would be happy if he was on my favorite team, but objectively i don't know why you would even broach the conversation about trading for him.
there's a harsh, stark decline in his advanced stats over the past four years, and he plays a style of basketball that doesn't exactly lend itself to longevity. he's 32 and is due $132 million over the next three seasons.
even if he's a low-tier all-star over the course of his contract, what does that do for us? put us into contention for the 7th or 8th seed? all while limiting our financial flexibility and recentering the development of our young players around Washed Russell Westbrook?
if someone said "you can have him on this contract without giving up any players," why would we say yes?

Otto expires after this year. That's $28M alone. Felicios expires after this year , that's $8M and Thads is partially guaranteed. Rockets should be all over this proposal.

Giving them an actual asset for that contract would be insane. The Hornets will probably do it, but that's why they are the Hornets.

If Bulls are offering cap space- Otto, Thad Felicio and #1 pick next year (top ten protected):
Would you want Westbrook or Chris Paul?
