I’ve watched a lot more Dieng. I think he’s going to be the best player from the draft.
At 18…
Eason
Procida
Brown

18 for 22 and 29 from MEM?
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. With those picks we could probably draft Kendall Brown and a shooter like Procida or Beachamp, OR Kendall Brown and a big like Walker Kessler. I'd like 2 chances to add a rotation player since we don't have a 1st Rounder next year.

Trevion Williams’ passing is very entertaining. Undersized and slow, and bad FTs though. But ooh wee- talk about Chicago-born Jokic-lite. Not sure he hangs in the NBA. Looks more like a Euroleague superstar.

For me it depends on who falls to 18, but in a vacuum I'd be all over this.

Interesting scenario… how many overweight players have lost 40+ lbs and been positive rotation players in the NBA?
40 pounds is a lot. But Kevin Love and Udonis Haslem jumped to mind as got-skinnys. Dwight Howard changed as he got older. Shaq went up and down, as does Draymond. Jokic. Carmelo got skinny too. Seems like maybe more people can do it if they choose to these days as the game got faster and the path to NBA-thin became better evangelized (Chris Paul).

Unless they have someone they are targeting I don’t see MEM being interested.

This mock has the Bulls selecting Jean Montero.

Interesting that the mock has Mathurin dropping to 11. Wonder how far he’d have to fall before the Bulls did everything they could to jump up and get him. Love his game.

Re: 2022 Draft Prospects Thread :Bulls get 18th pick
So I am coming around to catching up on different prospects that might be available at our pick, and so far here are my hot takes on them.
Mark Williams: I like him. He has a clear projection to being a 20PER, 60%TS+, low usage rim protector guy. He also looks big enough to not get pushed around by the larger centers in the league, which is a big plus in my book. C is the position where it hurts the most to be undersized. His body and game reminds me of Ayton in a good way.
Marjon Beauchamp: I kind of like him. He seems to have very good production on decent tools. It seems like he defends well, shoots well, and can move off the ball, so he should have a decent chance of panning out even if he's not a top talent. Not sure if he does anything particularly well though, and he seems like he'll likely be sub 20MPG guy even if he 'pans out'. So I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him, but he does not excite me that much either.
Jalen Williams: I like him. Seems like he has the right sort of athleticism to play well in the NBA. His athleticism didn't wow me in highlights, but he seems very dexterous and like he changes speeds well. Also makes good passes with both hands and has a step back game. He's a junior, so not as good as other players were at his age, but I'd like it if we picked him.
Dyson Daniels: I kind of like him. He seems dynamic, but he has the game of an on-ball shot creator type and I'm not sure he's good enough to do it in the pros. I admit to having no idea how his defense is, so my opinion is incomplete. He gives me Austin Rivers vibes, which isn't a great thing.
Blake Wesley: I didn't like him. Maybe he's more athletic than he looks, but his cadence seems very laborious and he just doesn't look like a unique talent to me. Seems like a second round pick.
Tari Eason: I like him. Like everyone else he seems like an awesome prospect for us. I'm honestly not sure why he isn't consistently mocked higher. Some sites still have him falling into our range so maybe it will happen. Not going to get my hopes up though.
Kenny Lofton Jr: I didn't like him. It's hard for me to warm up to using a first round pick on a guy that has man boobs. The highlights mostly showed him playing bully ball with his extra weight and I didn't really see much that would translate to the pros.
Kendall Brown: I didn't like him. I guess if we want the next Derrick Jones Jr on a rookie contract we can take him, but his game seems very redundant for what we have. I'd only want to draft him if his intangibles were through the roof, to justify a bet on unforeseen improvement. His game is raw as sushi and doesn't seem to have the muscle control to play effectively on offense.
Walker Kessler: I kind of like him. His long arms will definitely translate, but I don't know enough to know if he's switchable or twitchy enough to play well in the NBA. He also seems to have a high center of gravity, which I don't think bodes well for big men. Lateral mobility seems iffy too. But I also didn't like Jarrett Allen or Rudy Gobert either, so I'm often wrong on this type of player.
Nikola Jovic, Ousmane Dieng: I don't like either of them. Just don't seem to have the right set of tools to make it in the NBA. Dieng doesn't seem bouncy at all. But I am never more wrong on prospects than I am with Euros, so I don't trust my judgment on this one.
I'm going to try and keep catching up on more, but for now that's where I'm at.

I hate it for the selfish reason that I won't get to watch his film sessions with the draft prospects in the future.

E.J Liddell, Jalen Williams, Ochai Agbaji, and Baldwin Jr are a top my somewhat realistic wish list for us. Big versatile guys that can play multiple positions is the wave.

Yeah, I don't think Eason or Agbaji fall to us so my top realistic pick is Liddell. He can come in and contribute right away, much like Ayo, but still has a lot of room for growth. I just love his shot blocking instincts, his ability to post up (and pass out of the post), and his spot-up 3pt shooting. If he works on his handles, he could be really good playing next to Pat for the next 5-6 years.

Not really falling for anyone yet - would love to trade with Memphis for 22 and 29. These guys don't blow me away, but the two Kansas wings seem like the type of wings every winning team has on their roster:
Ochai Agbaji - 6'5" wing shooting 40% from three. Older so can see him falling.
Christian Braun - 6'7" wing. 38% from three. Also a little older. Also has some of that high-energy play. Good rebounder for his size/position.
Also like Kendall Brown some.

I'm sure he's always had higher aspirations so had to jump at the opportunity. But being basketballs Mel Kiper for then next 40 years and being paid great to do so is about as dream of a job as I could imagine. I guess he could always go back.
