I think the comparison is Kirk Hinrich.

Yeah, Kirk had some sneaky athleticism in his early years too, but as far as Hayes' game, I'm not sure who he compares to. Maybe a mixture off Hinrich and D'angello Russell.

I heard one evaluator say he is a triangulation midway point between D'Lo, Goran Dragic and Spencer Dinwiddie

They are absolutely nothing alike.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Sure they are. Though Hayes will be lucky to have a career as good as Kirks.

Yeah, he should be so lucky as to have 3 years with a PER above 15 and be dumped twice by the team that drafted him.

Yeah, I think these players are fair comparisons as far as how Hayes tries to score, but Hayes seems to be more of a passer compared to them.

Played 15 seasons. Made All-Rookie team also made the All-Defensive team. Played for the U.S. national team. So yeah good luck doing that.

Guys, I think it's time to write off Killian Hayes. He clearly won't play for the US national team.

Yeah, we'll agree to disagree on Hinrich. No point going in circles around the issue, we got enough of that with him Manning the point.

Sure he will since he is James Harden + Damian Lillard. I mean you can keep a future league MVP off the National Team.

I don't think Kirk and Hayes' games are much alike at all. But athletically, I can see it. Hayes is longer and more fluid, so stylistically the similarities don't jump out. But from a pure run and jump standpoint, they're close.

What separates them to my eye is that Hayes changes speeds and Kirk didn't. Not sure if you'd consider that craft or an athletic trait. It's probably a combination of the two. It makes a big difference, though.

I don't think a team in the NBA picking in the lottery has ever desperately needed a defensive wing.

You can typically sign those guys out of the bargain bin each year. Nwaba for example.

I also think the Bulls have a gem in Mokoka as a tough defensive wing.

This team needs offensive talent.

Hayes is a really impressive shot creator. He's also 6'5 with a 6'8 wingpsan. I think those are the two main points of difference.

I want to see Mokoka. More than Dunn Hutch and Val. I think he has staying power.

In a recent interview, Mokoka noted that he and AK had a phone conversation and they liked him as a player.

A translated interview from reddit. Full interview in the comments.https://www.reddit.com/r/chicagobulls/comments/imgysp/interview_adam_mokoka_i_think_i_can_become_a_real/

A new vice-president recently arrived at the Bulls: Arturas Karnisovas . Have you traded together since his arrival?

“We had a phone conversation. He told me that the Bulls were happy with my job, that they liked me and that they liked my "3 & D" profile very much. They are in a hurry to see me again in training. Obviously hoping to be part of their plans in the future. "

How do you see your future, from a contractual point of view?

“The conversation with Arturas [Karnisovas] let me know that the Bulls wanted me to come back this summer and that we would advise then, starting in October. For now, I plan to return to the United States in August, although the exact date is not yet set. "

Also more quotes.

What exactly are the aspects you need to work on?

"There are many. I don't want to rely on just one thing because I'm trying to become versatile. This year, I find that I have relied on my shooting and my defense whereas before I attacked the circle more often. What is certain is that my communication in the field must improve. That's an important aspect because I think I can become a real defensive leader with the Bulls. So I need to communicate more at this level. Offensively, I must also work on my shooting in motion, my shooting out of dribbling, the “catch-and-shoot”… I must also gain consistency, be more patient, better read and understand the game, while maintaining my aggressiveness. "

Which players do you think you are close to in the profile?

“In the style of play, I would say I get closer to a Marcus Smart or a Jimmy Butler from his early years. In the mentality, it would be guys like Russell Westbrook or even Patrick Beverley. Players that I observe a lot and from which I draw more or less inspiration. "

Man why'd we have to get started on Captain Kirk? I realize he was the coach's pet, but he was the misery of my 2005-08 Bulls life. Pax should've kept Duhon for his $3m or whatever and sold Kirk to the highest bidder, cause he was the ultimate fool's gold point guard. For every good Kirk moment there were 2 epically bad ones and 3 non-existent ones. My favorite games were when Kirk was out:

Definitely not seeing the Kirk and Hayes comparison. Different types of players, different games and
