Good move, euro bigs generally have a longer runway than most given they are finesse players. Vuc easily still has 5 years ahead of him which gives AKME breathing space to add a couple of names along the way.

A consistent 20/10 player that shoots 40% from 3 don't come often and if you pair him with Zach, the workload lessen and we now have 2 legit go-to guys where opposition defence has to take note of.

This would free up opportunities for the supporting cast. And yeah....2 all-star players on a team. That's the way to do it.

Interested to know about what protection is on the draft picks especially the one for this year. There is still no guarantee that the Bulls will not be in the lottery this year. Hate to see them lose in the play in round and then get lucky in the lottery with a top 4 pick only to see it going to Orlando. If the protection is top 4 then that works.

This is a clear going all in move which I’m fine with but the FO believes that the combo of LaVine and Vucevic is good enough to be a championship core. I guess we will find out. Don’t want a treadmill situation. The expectations have to be about winning championships not second round exits.

There will not be 4 All-Star caliber PGs this summer. Dinwiddie would do nothing for the Bulls and Schroeder or Dragic are awful.

Lowry , Conley , Jrue , Paul if he opts out that’s potential 4. Lonzo a RFA another option , decent PG pool

Both traded picks have Top 4 protection.

All hail lord and savior AK.

This is a really really good move for Lauri.

He can now slot into a 3rd option role and focus on spotting up and cutting and not have to worry about the pressure of creating off the dribble.

I'm still in shock guys... I think just from positive trade deadline moves at all let alone adding a freaking All Star!!

Also interesting that AK kept the '22 pick.. I wonder if he has his eyes on somebody for that pick...

Yes just saw it on tankathon. It’s a good move then. If something does go south and the Bulls still end up in the lottery if the pick has value it would still go to the Bulls. Remember even if the Bulls move up to 7 and lose 2 consecutive games they are back in the lottery. Don’t care about the pick if it’s not top 5 so the protection is important. How long is Vucevic under contract?

I'm curious to see how Markkanen plays with Vucevic. Vucevic's passing ability might do a lot for him.

As for the '22 pick teams aren't allowed to trade draft picks in back to back years.

Agreed, the bulls can win the center matchup outright on most nights and Lauri never has to play center again!

Ya Vuc is not a great defender or shot blocker but he does rebound, which for me defensive rebounding has always been a huge part of defense - more shots are missed than made.

So at some point they'll probably want a shot blocking/defending big to come off the bench but harder to find all-stars.

Two all-stars - didn't even think of that. Sounds odd to type it. ;o

So I guess *only if* they had Lonzo Ball in hand, they'd have to decide would they trade Ball for the guys above. I would be inclined to say no at first glance.

Also I think he's being pretty hard on Dragic, nice player imo, not sure how much I would want the Bulls to offer him of course.

Good to see you guys. Hope you stick around again.

Awww man, look at all the stuff that went down today! Was upset I couldn't be here to talk about it during work. Yall asked for trades and got em!

And the outcome looks great to me. No more hutch, otto, wcj, gafford. That's a lot of little to no production gone! And we add Vuc(!), theis, brown, green.

Big W!

Kinda bummed we couldnt flip lauri/coby for lonzo though
Damn I love Hip Hop!

Jrue is not a PG, will be 32 and want big money. Conley will be 34 & just last year was averaging 14 points on 40% shooting & 4.4 assists. Paul isn't opting out of 40 million. So no it's not a decent PG pool.

At this time

I suspect the Bulls were willing to go Lauri plus Sato in the deal (makes sense), but not Lauri plus Sato and or a frp. They wouldn’t toss Young top of either because clearly the Bulls want to go on a playoffs run. After the season is over the calculus could change once they see what they have and can afford to lose and also replace. They figure to try and get a long term piece to go next to Zach while they plan for more playoffs. Lonzo has some season left to audition to solidify his value. Right now a little soft still.

Dragic:

16.5 ppg on 53% shooting in December (4 games)

15.6 ppg on 44% shooting in January (10 games)

12.7 ppg on 40% shooting in February (6 games)

11.8 ppg on 40% shooting in March (8 games)

Will be 36 next season.

By the way, during the press conference did AK confirm that Javonte Green is coming to the Bulls? Haven’t seen anything definitely confirming that.

Return to Chicago Bulls
