Dwight may be throwing up bricks but isn't shooting blanks.

Broussard never said that. Twitter blogger is misquoting, giving enormous faith to Knicks fans who won't do the due dilligence. :D

Butler, Dunleavy, Mirotic, and a 1st. Sign Pau with the MLE.

I don't think we'll give up on Butler AND Mirotic/McBuckets. I think one of Mirotic\McD, alongside Boozer and 1 or 2 first's will be enough. We still might have to move MDJ somewhere.

If we send Mirotic we can have Pau with the MLE I think, as long as he doesn't want to sign for the Heat or the Thunder.

I'm just saying that Butler's absense yesterday is a strong signal he's not in future plans. If the Bulls get Melo, how is he going to be extended?

If the Bulls amnesty Boozer, S&T with Butler and Dunleavy matches to $20.3M for Melo.

Pax would throw Butler, Mirotic and a 1st like Sonny Corleone after trashing the camera outside the wedding. Here's hoping he spits on the ground too.

I see your point of view but I don't think his absense means he's gone. I don't see any profit of having Jimmy also on the meeting. We already had 3 players, the coach and the FO. It doesn't really mean he's not important and he's about to be dealt. It means he might be available but it's just not his 'duty' because we had Taj and Noah making that kind of approach.

I'm pretty sure we won't give up on Jimmy unless it's the last option. I think Mirotic and McDermotts are the guys on the talks

Broussard did say the part about the Knicks not taking back Boozer though. I heard the interview.

Phew. It does concern me that Houston can free up $18-20. I know we can deal Taj and do the same, but if it's a question of $20M/yr in Houston with Harden/Howard, $20M in CHI with no Taj/Butler/MDJ, or $17M in Chi with keeping Taj, while I'd lean Chi I'd be afraid of his taking the $20 and an improved (but not as good as Bulls) competitive situation.

I don't know how he's gonna be extended, but at least we would have him for another year. And who know's how much he will be asking next year? We just should not give up on him because he's a pretty amazing wing defender who is already a key part of Thibs defensive system.

Phil Jackson said in an interview last week that if it takes the Max to get Melo to re-sign then he would give it because with the new TV contract it wont be as high as it looks now.

We need to find a third team to send Boozer to (we might even have a third team lined up).

YES! This just in! The Bulls are getting Melo for $15m/yr!!!

I knew someone was going to post this.

1. Chris never said this.

2. Chris never tweeted this.

I seriously wish people would stop posting boogie's updates. He doesn't have sources and just uses other peoples tweets whether they are correct or not.

I don't see McDermott on the table. Unless all the post-draft chatter about Thibs loving him from Team USA as the primary reason they moved up to get him. It could be posturing, maybe they made the pick for New York.

I don't know.

But it was reported that if Melo comes to Chicago, he wants Taj on the team. Jimmy didn't have to be in the meeting but nobody is talking about him. Pretty sure Pax talked about Taj being part of the core but didn't mention Butler. (anyone verify?)

I'm just saying that he won't be cheap after next year and if they get Melo, they'll lose him. He's an attractive piece to Phil that makes a S&T work. It may not happen but it seems too obvious to me.

Let me be clear- I LOVE JIMMY. I'm just trying to look at this without emotion.
Honesty is my only excuse.

still boggles my mind why Knicks fans would even want Phil to pay him the super max

it's like they don't want to lose in the short term, win in the long term

they'd rather win in the short term and lose out in the long

Does anyone think that Melo would go to the Rockets, Mavs or Lakers (for max money)? His best shot at a title is still through the East. If he wants max money, he can go back to NY....where he still has an easier path to the NBA Finals)

You understand that if the reports are true about Wade taking $12 mil and Bosh taking $10 mil, that Carmelo can sign outright with Miami for almost the same money as Chicago could give right?
Even if Lebron takes $20 mil, Carmelo can sign for about $17-$18 mil.
