Derrick Rose will do 1 of 2 things in the 2014-2015 NBA Season: 1) Return to MVP form and prove you wrong, or 2) Fail to return to MVP form and prove me wrong. Either way, one of us will end up looking like an ***hole.

I think it's a pretty good sign that Melo is recruiting Gasol. Because Gasol is going to say no. Because going to the Knicks and losing in the first round for the RMLE, while being blamed for not being the 2nd option he hasn't been capable of being for 3 years, doesn't sound like a lot of fun to him. This will make Carmelo contemplate his existence, go through another tube of lip balm, and realize that NY is not a premier destination for FA's because they utterly suck.

How so?

Westbrook and Rose both had MCL's which are less serious. Rose also had an acl. West rooks surgeries were just cleaning up his knee not additional injuries.

Rose was fine from the ACL just rusty. People forget in the few games he played he gave Lillard and Irving fits when guarding them. Westbrook had three surgeries on his knee meniscus whether minor or not that is still two more compared to Rose.
Losing to get high draft picks and hoping they turn into franchise players is not some next level, genius move. That's what teams want to happen in any rebuild/tank or whatever you want to market it as.

Bulls free agency summed up

At least we still got that safety mat in Noah, Rose, McDermott, Taj, Jimmy, and possibly Mirotic. Oh, and who could forget Boozer leaving! Things could be worse, much worse.

Exactly. We missed the slam dunk of bringing in Melo, but at least we didn't break our neck.

If word is "leaking" out about Melo's intention to the fans, odds are the Bulls brass have a good idea what is going on. If it's clear that Melo is out-of-reach we need to turn our attention immediately to the Wolves about getting Love.

You offer Taj, Dunleavy, + fillers, Mirotic, draft picks to get Love. Also, Taj better not be untouchable. I don't know how all of the sudden he reached untouchable status (or has he?)

I understand going after Pau if we were getting Melo. However, if we are not getting Melo, I don't want Pau by any means.

Losing out on Melo cannot be laid at the feet of Paxson and Gar. What they do next will be laid at their feet (positive or negative).

Yeah, but they become all stars in a domino effect since Rose is on the Bulls. Not taking anything from Noah and Deng, they are great, but but they are not a superst type of players. By the way, the Bulls get both on the draft.

See my point?

Seems that the only time most people agree the FO wasn't at fault in free agency is with the biggest names like LeBron and Melo. Everything else? GarPax usually finds a way to screw it up.

I said numerous times that the best alternative course for us was flipping Gibson to Orlando for Afflalo, and then signing Gasol and Mirotic with cap space. I want to know whether we simply passed on Afflalo in the hopes of landing Melo or whether they didn't want anything we had. We won't sign a better wing player than AA thus offseason.

What could have been: Rose/Afflalo/Butler/Gasol/Noah with DJ, Doug, and Nikola off the bench.

I am pretty certain that Taj would not be untouchable if we were getting Love. Thats a position upgrade PLUS an overall upgrade.

Even for something like Lance + Gasol + Mirotic, I wouldnt mind moving Taj. You have 2 good PF's coming in and 1 good one goong out.

Taj for Melo is unsustainable on the court. On message boards and on ESPN "analysts" shows, that may sound like heresy, but the court never lies.
For love, not money.

I'm currently emotionally unstable. So I'm just gonna keep posting gifs in hopes that they make you chuckle, and forget your sadness for a split second. Let me know when it gets annoying.

I think this is a legit possibility.

This makes basically no sense at all. Who exactly has Melo been recruiting? So he's been lying all along to guys he's known for years (Noah, Taj, Kobe), his agent has been lying to a close friend (Thibs), and all these FOs have been completely clueless?

What does make sense (assuming Melo'sactually been recruiting Pau) is that Melo's first choice would be to win in NY (that only makes sense, he&fam love it there, more $$$ for him). Getting Pau on the cheap would also speak well to his & Phil's ability to attract another star guy.

However, if Pau says no, Melo's back where he was before: NYK isn't the mecca for FAs and he has to choose the $$$ or winning.

Today's "news" fits whatever category your personal biases/fears make it.
