I watch a lot of basketball. He has absolutely quit on the Kings. Unforgivable

That contract is what’s holding him back the most.

If he was paid $20-$25 million, contending teams would be lining up for him to be the 3rd or 4th microwave scoring option where he can play motivated as his teams actually have a shot at winning.

As is, no good teams can afford him so he ends up on poorly performing teams as the highest paid player and 1st or 2nd option. He just isn’t good enough for that role and after 12 years, Zach would just be exhausted.

I've always said that Zach is a good basketball player, but he is way overpaid. He makes 47m this year, that's alot of dough and hard to match salary/value wise.

I never actually thought AK would find a trade for LaVine, I was certain he was going to be a Bull for the remainder of that contract.

I don't think Sacramento is going to find any takers for his contract.

Zach might be in unprecedented territory. A high volume/high efficiency scorer with elite shooting that consistently hurts the team.

Except the Bucks have no way to get LaVine unless he's bought out.

Kuzma and Portis get to 38M.

Kuzma and Portis is 35.8m and Zach makes 47.4m.

I heard that Sabonis was a rumor for us, it would be wild if we see another bull (or two) on the kings roster.

See this is the problem with Zachs contract, matching it ends up gutting your depth, the Bucks would still have to offload more salary (which means another player) to still even get close to Zachs salary, plus they made moves to get them under the apron.

I agree he'd be a good fit, but his contract makes it stupidly difficult.

Honestly do you know how the trade rules work? As in aprons and hard caps?

How things should be is Zach Lavine to Devin Booker as Dame Lillard is to Steph Curry. If you get the analogy.

But it's not.

I don't think Zach has a real comparison of a player that good and efficient on offense but have such game breaking traits. The sum is always less than to what it should be.

I had Zach entirely wrong. I was against re-signing him after his rookie contract, was willing to let the Kings have him at $19 million. He was good value on that deal, as it turned out. So then I was OK at re-signing him 4 years later at the higher price. A terrible contract that was.

Let's be real though. He was 26 coming off consecutive AS appearances and the Bulls just won 46 games. The contract hasn't aged well, but they had to pay him.

Interesting because I think he's a similar kind of player as Coby and we're about to sign him long-term to $35M+, similar to Lavine's contract.
Coby is also prone to braindead IQ plays, especially in the clutch. He's fine if he just shoots, much like Zach was.
Coby is actually worse on defense, both by eye test and metrics.
