Thought I'd chime in here because I cover the NBL here in Australia.

Kuol is a good role player in this league. Shoots the 3 well and is good on D.

He also shot 38% from the field and is a very sub-par athlete for NBA standards.

Don't think much of it. It's just a Summer League roster signing. I'm sure our Australian coach (Cotter) has helped tee it up. Wouldn't expect anything more to come of it.

Yes. With the most online support of any prospect in the draft.

Diamond in the rough? Or just solid role player?

Would be a great get. Might have the best passing feel in the draft. Infectious personality. Two way player. I had an executive tell me he may low key be Arizona's best prospect.

Procida just keeps getting better. I like how he plays with an edge and fills the box score with steals and blocks and rebounds. That shot will translate. I think he could become a big time high volume 3pt shooter that can shoot off the bounce and move. If he fills in and keeps his quickness there are some Herro and Klay comps.

What happened to Yannick Nzosa? he was a projected lottery pick in preseason mocks, I know he was a dud on offense but was talked about of having fantastic defensive upside. Seen some clips of his defense, easy mover in space, athletic around the rim.

Is he worthy of buying/trading a 2nd for?

Height aside, does Mark Williams have the quickness to play the 4 next to Vuc, similar to how Robert Williams and Bam (on occasion) do?

A 4 with elite help side defense and rim protection still is one of the biggest needs

No way we blow a first rounder on him, and we can't purchase a 2nd round pick, so I'd have to assume this would be for an undrafted FA slot or just Summer League. He was okay overseas, but I think a lot of his allure has waned since his HS hype.

Terry seems like a guy that will get drafted higher than expected. Has all the tools and makings of a really good NBA player.

I believe we can "buy a 2nd round pick" by having a handshake deal in place to direct the pick and have the trade afterwards for cash considerations.

On the topic of our "lost 2nd round pick"...would it make sense to buy a very very late 2nd rounder for nominal considerations this year, to get it over with and not lose a better one down the road? Is that even legal?

Actually some Draft writers think he made incredible progress up the Draft chart since the Combine. He went from being out of the top 100 Prospects to the high 40s. He only 20. A legit 7'-2" with a 7'5" Wingspan. Somewhat reluctant to shoot as he was only a rookie in his league last season and he got minimal playing time. He is strictly someone I think the Bulls should pick up if they can contrive a cash deal with another team that doesn't result in us forfeiting a 2nd round pick we might acquire pre-draft in a trade. This is a kid you'd play the entire year in the G-League. He's a stash and hope he can work on his game as he matures into his body. Another "5" alternative would be to do the same scenario but take Kofi Cockburn. Kofi and Ayo already have their two man game figured out. Kofi might not be capable of being a starting "5" but there are elements to his game that he excels at that would make him a useful 10-15 minute a game situational rotation player. Maybe use him to figure out a way to keep Giannis out of the paint. He's a wide load. I don't think Giannis could move Kofi off his feet with his patented elbow under the armpit move the refs allow him to do 10 times a game.

Kai makes waves in NBA camps
Joaquin M. Henson - The Philippine Star
June 3, 2022 | 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines — Kai Sotto has worked out with three NBA Eastern Conference teams so far and he’s been invited to attend more camps as word got around that the 7-3 center is turning out to be a revelation more than a project. Brett Siegel, writing in Fastbreak on Fan Nation in si.com, placed Sotto as the Sacramento Kings’ second round pick, No. 49 overall, in the draft on June 23. Only 58 players of 270 applicants will be chosen on D-Day.

The rumor is Sotto has worked out with the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers although only the Magic invitation was confirmed by hoophype.com. “His performance is improving workout after workout,” said a source close to Sotto. “At first, he couldn’t believe he was finally in an NBA atmosphere, his heart was pumping with excitement and nervousness. Workouts are solo trips. He flies in the day before, checks in at a hotel and the next morning, works out for two to three hours then is interviewed and leaves for the airport.”

Sotto, 20, said he’s prepared to do what it takes to make the NBA grade. “On the physical side, I have to get stronger, faster,” he said. “On the mental side, growing up in the streets of Las Piñas, physicality was normal for a kid playing against construction workers, tricycle drivers. That helped me be prepared mentally. In my career, I was always one of the youngest guys, playing with older players.” NBA agent Joel Bell said the “single thing that makes (Kai) different from every other player is what’s between his ears, it’s his basketball IQ (and) he’s going to be an incredibly valued (player) to an NBA team winning (because) there are very few players his age, his size, his position that you can trust to make (the right) decisions (in a game).”

Sotto said two NBA players whom he’d like to pattern his game after are Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic. “If I try to learn from them and get a combination of both, that would help me as a player,” he said. “The aggressiveness of Giannis and how Jokic plays the right way. I believe in God and if I put the work in, God will put me in the right place at the right time so it’s just faith and for me, keep my focus and keep on working.”

I just can’t get behind anymore 6’7” centers that are going to be dominated every time we play a team with legit size like Milwaukee or Philly. Small ball was a failure. And even when it worked we put WAY too much pressure on Ball and Caruso guarding PFs and other nonsense that just wears them down.

I'm not seeing Cofi Cockburn being drafted. I understand what he struggles with, but man, he would help with what we lack and it would be a coup to get him as an UDFA.

AK will be hunting the UDFAs for sure since we don’t have a 2nd round pick for like ever.
