So now it's Butler fault that people who have extensively proven to be horrible at their jobs in the past are indeed horrible at their jobs.

Bulls were a 40 win team with Butler, played like a 20 win team without him.

But Jimmy was the problem preventing the FO adding talent.

20 wins here we come!

Bye bye Jimmy Leader. We'll miss your stirring leadership qualities.

Stirring as in stirring the pot. Constantly.

Gar it's draft night. get back to making things worse for our team and get off realgm!

You don't want to piss me off, if you think I am who you are.

I just might trade for Melo to make your offseason a sweet syrupy mess.

Honest question. Do you think GarPax are good at building a basketball team?

Bro....got to look on the bright side.

Sorry, the bright side was laid to rest the moment Derrick blew his knee out. We've seen this show before. Cap space is used in worn out talent or several bad players. Trade exemptions are allowed to expire. Wish I could be more positive, but this FO and ownership have given me nothing to hope for.

At least we're 100% sure that we won't be wondering if this guy can rush back for the playoffs.

He'll look great at the draft lottery!

I was always reluctant about a Butler trade because I just simply didn't trust Gar Forman to make a good trade. Here are all my issues with the trade:

1.) We didn't get a top 3 pick.
2.) We INCLUDED a 1st round pick.
3.) The best piece in the trade is a player that's reliant on his athleticism and is overcoming a big injury.

I don't think any fan wanted this trade, but I think this validates a lot of posters who early on complained about GarPax as GMs. We've been with these guys for 13 years and it's all been a colossal waste of time.

The concept of trading Butler was right. I stand by that and will do so. But only getting back the 7th pick, Kris Dunn, whose value has plummetted, and Zach LaVine, who's recovering from an ACL injury, is terrible value for Butler.

Yes, it sets the Bulls on the path of a rebuild, but they received no quality pieces back. LaVine will never be more impactful than Butler.

The fact they included 16 as part of the deal is ridiculous. Thibs killed the Bulls today.

John Paxson has done it before. He was an excellent GM.

Jimmy wasn't recruiting anyone to Chicago. We were going nowhere except being a 7th or 8th seed. The future was bleak w/ a smiling Jimmy cashing a big check while we muddle along.

Did we make a killing? No, but that points more to Butler and other bad teams not rating him as high as we do. We have a good base and come next year we need a top 5 pick to add another asset.

Done want, spent years building a team that peaked not much above the team we just blew apart by trading Jimmy.

Despite having a handful of top 10 picks.

Yeah, spending the next 5 years to go in a big circle back to 45 wins sounds fun.

And without a franchise talent that's exactly the best case that is realistic.

Butler was an irritant to GarPax.

GarPax are an irritant to Bulls fans.

Let's also accept that premise. And not live in denial.

It is what it is. And we are just outside looking in.

At the end of the day, if you are a dick, then you'll be treated like one. The only problem here being the dick ain't gonna fire itself.

Again, the bright side is the money saved and this will probably be the last season that GarForman will be in office. It's gonna get ugly but maybe it had to be done.

I'm sure their justification was, "We got multiple first round picks for Jimmy, and one of them (Dunn) we were really high on!"

If I'm trying to be optimistic: at least we'll finally get to see what Hoiball will look like...? Considering we got rid of Thibs, Rose, and Jimmy for Fred, might as well see what he's got to offer.

Can we trade Rondo to Portland for Harkless and #26? They need to shed salary.

At this point, Lauri cannot be Channing Frye, Niko Mirotic, or even Ryan Anderson. He needs to be a unicorn.

I really like his talent, but this was just a terrible trade. Like you said, Thibs killed the Bulls. Dude finally got his revenge.

Also, kudos to Thibs. I'm betting he selected Dunn knowing full well that it could eventually lead to a Butler trade. Forman recently bringing in all his sought after point guard prospects didn't give him a great poker hand.

I can't imagine Jimmy wanting to live and play in Minnesota long term.
