If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Derik Queen almost has a triple double in 3 quarters of play. SMH at ACME and calling an early scoreboard on the ppl who hated the pick. Wish I stuck to my guns even more.

Boom or bust prospect queen was to me. Very unique, two guys I thought were in the draft were him and wolf.

I don't think that was ever an argument against getting Queen.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy. :kissmybutt:

Queen has had a good start to his career, but I'd still rather have the 2026 New Orleans pick plus #23 (Newell?).

We could have had either Queen or the Pels pick from next year. But those choices were too obvious for AKME, who used the opportunity to draft a project who, per nbadraft.net, has the "potential to be an rotation-level contributor." Wow, that's inspiring. I'm fired up to spend years developing a guy who might help us off the bench. If things break right, that is.

Wait now, you say. That's just a website. AKME is the actual GM, you need to trust him. After all, he picked a project once before with a lottery pick, with Pat Williams, and look how that worked out!

Eff me.

I get the frustration, but if the league thought Queen was as good as he's playing right now, he wouldn't have been available at 13 for the reasons he was. New Orleans also wouldn't have drafted Fears over him.

I didn't know if he would be so elite offensively that it would negate the defensive concerns at C, but that looks like a real scenario now. Either way, this is the downside in drafting tools players and hoping they can catch up to players who are young and already good.

Im glad for Queen but I know in my heart, it would not be this way on the Bulls.

Firstly, Queen is equal to like having Demar at center. A slow paced offense with no 3s. Especially when you consider the best way to use Queen is to give him the ball to facilitate the offense. That would not make any sense for us. No way Billy Donovan would do that.

So I am not emo about not getting Queen. We dont know if the offer was there, but if the offer was there, that might be bigger than getting Queen.

Understood.

My frustration is not so much that the Bulls chose not to draft Queen, because as you write there were (and still remain) some serious concerns about his defense. It is two things in addition -

1) If we didn't like Queen, we could have taken next year's Pels pick instead2
2) And we rejected both Queen and the Pels pick for Noa Essengue?

This smells like getting locked into a guy, convinced of our own genius, as the Hornets infamously did in turning down a big offer so they could draft Frank Kaminsky at the #9 slot, and as we did when locking into Chandler Hutchison, by promising him that we would select him no matter who else was available at that time.

So yeah, AKME had conviction when drafting Noa. As did the Hornets with Frank and GarPax with Chandler. Great.

DQ sure is fun to watch… on another team. DDR iso in the half court but souped up.

Don’t know if he will play winning hoops though. His hands on D for blocks and rebounds do lift his defensive floor higher than I thought he’d ever be.

Yeah, same. He is skilled, no doubt. And on a team like NO with Zion out, there are a lot of shots to take.

If he is able to exist as a PF, I can see his game working. I did find solace in picking him up off waivers for my fantasy team.
