If we keep Aldridge it likely means no Rose unless we end up in that 9th slot in the lottery. I think I'd rather have Rose given the choice.

Oh and Noah too.

We can't be fooled by his 6/9. More telling the team was neutral (+0) with him on the floor tonight, while +13 with Asik, whose positive number was in line with the other positive starters.

As you mentioned, his defense and rebounding has become really soft. I'm not sure who guided him this summer, but by the sounds of things it seems like he concentrated on the wrong things (three-point shooting) and forgot about his real strengths.

Still liking what I'm seeing from him offensively, though.

the blazers gave up playing when deng got the hot hand...
and they still managed to put a run together every now and then... I think they could have taken this game if they tried...

Maybe i'm being to harsh on my bulls because I want them to be better....

Rose had a decent to good game. He didn't force shots and distributed the ball well. His turnovers were not exactly what I expected from him.

I loved what I saw from Asik out there. It's a thing of beauty when he and Jo clog up the middle. I'm sure Magilla will be proud of his boy.

What I still don't like about our bigs, especially Taj, is that we need to box out. The Bulls' opponents get too many offensive rebounds/2nd chance opportunities for my likings.

I wanted to write a little "postgame analysis" as well, but I'm not sure if this thread is what it was supposed to me.

Yeah, this was an epic failure.

Jvaughn wrote:I gotta say, Taj's rebounding numbers are really starting to be a concern. I understand he only played 21 minutes tonight, but staying on the floor is something he is going to have to fix. He picks up way too many stupid fouls. We need his defense (non existent) and rebounding (also invisible) to get this team through this stretch without Boozer.

I don't agree w/ Taj's rebounding. He's found himself guarding some perimeter bigs both in preseason and regular season so far. Plus with Noah pulling down 20 boards and those two being on the court almost always at the same time? No worries.

Really? A double double is bad? I thought he played a nice game, hustled, did the little things etc.

You couldn't ask much more out of the several guys who played major minutes. I liked Thibs' rotations a lot, especially his decision to keep Asik and JJ in with 5 fouls in the 3rd. The Blazers weren't able to cut the lead going into the 4th. Except for a few lapses, the Bulls dominated this game.

Deng: 40 pts on 19 FGA and 9-11 FT - Very aggressive with his shot and driving. Played his game, made a ton of shots. Shot the long 2 off pull-ups and curls as well as the open 3 very well. Had a couple nice leak-outs on the break and played solid D on a few guys.

Rose: 16 pts, 13 asts, 6 TO - Ran the team very well, and picked his spots very well, scoring on FTs and layups. Something about Rose's ability to distribute - when he gets doubled, it's usually aggressive. But he has the ability to go anywhere on the court and still get the ball away with his athleticism. That jump pass is really effective.

Noah: 1o pts, 10 reb, 4 ast - Showed everything in his offensive game, making some nice passing early and keying the first half's success with his ability to push the ball. He looks very comfortable in the open court. The jump shot was money too.

Asik: 7 rebs, 3 blks, 26 min - A really impressive game. His ability to show and recover on defense and his positioning in general is really encouraging. Looked very confident. Committed good fouls. He has to be in the rotation.

The Blazers were playing really aggressive early with the full court press and even in the half court. The Bulls' exploitation of this keyed the first quarter lead as they routinely caught the Blazers out of position.

27 fast break points for the Bulls. Noah, Rose, and Deng all day it seemed.
"Just gotta stand in front of him," Butler said, as if it were simple.

So I see Brandon Roy has graduated from the Dwayne Wade 'Cry like a bitch to get foul calls' school. Seriously he get's some garbage ass calls.

I'm beginning to get quite irritates by the people who are saying that Rose was passive in the first half. I think that was quite frankly his most controlled and smartest first half he has played in the first 3 games of the season.

He didn't force the issue and let the game come to him. He put players in the right places on the offensive end, made the right passes, when the shot was there he took them and when he took down the defensive board he pushed it up. Plus he played solid defense, and he allowed Deng to stay in rythme.

The second half, especially the fourth quarter he made some boneheaded decisions with the ball.
Why so serious?

So i havent read the entire post game thread but my guess would be this about Deng:

Yay, he showed us his preseason form, if he can be a 3rd option when Boozer gets back, we can be real good

OR

Trade him now whilst his value is high! Denver GM please be watching our game!

This was definitely a "team" win tonight too. Everyone contributed in the box score. Brewer had solid minutes. JJ, despite his fouls, played good D and was active. Asik was awesome. CJ even had some moments. Korver was on fiiiyyyaaa. Bogans hit a 3....

Nice to see Rose and Noah not having to carry the load the entire game.

Bogans with 16 minutes. No one has mentioned his name I think, and that's the best we can hope for.

At least Tyrus turned into the Charlotte pick. When it becomes a top 5 in 2016 LA will be on the decline.

For those who are interested, Deng had a 68,68 TS% for the game.
