Well Omer did privately complain about minutes so this is a big chance for him.

Would have liked to keep Thomas. He proved to be very valuable last year. He can also go from DNP to starting without it being a problem. A tru pro. But as well as he played last year in spurts I expected to lose him.

Well, at least he didn't go to the Heat or Knicks. Wish him the best in Portland. Don't get cursed!

That's the key. While I'm observing the Bulls moves, I'm equally observing what the other EC teams are doing. I think myself & a few other posters are on the same page, hoping that all the players that "matter" go to the WC if they're not coming to the Chi.

The great thing about Thomas, especially on this team as deep as it is, is that you could stash him away on the bench for months on end. Then, when injuries happen or other circumstances dictate he play, the guy comes right in and doesn't miss a beat. That's a quality that is hard to find and will be sorely missed.

Much respect to the OG Kirk Thomas. Gonna miss ya, good luck!

I'm just going to miss Stacey having fun while KT was in the game. KT is an old school guy, and we could all appreciate his hardhat and lunch pail mentality. He's a true professional. I'm looking forward to seeing the next backup center we fall in love with after Brad and Kurt.

Kurt Thomas is going to sign with the Blazers for a two years deal? That sucks I was hoping he'll resign with the Bulls for one more season he is a nice insurance & veteran to have on your team he did a hell of a job filling in Noah's place when he was out with the injury last season.

I am hoping we find some insurance big just in case the ones we should look at are not in order:

Leon Powe
Nenad Krstic
Joel Przybilla
Joe Smith(I think he is done though.)
Theo Ratiff
Erick Dampier(I I can't believe I put him on the list lol.)
Tony Battie
Reggie Evans
Kwame Brown(I can't beleive I put his name on this list too lol.)

Kwame Brown, very underrated defense, not so much on help D but more his individual D. Big enough for the Howards and Perkins but athletic enough to get up and down the court with Rose, unlike Aaron Gray for instance.

Troy Murphy though not a true center would fill the stretch big man role since I pray Scal doesn't make the team again.

Those would be the top guys on my list. Our bigs can't be relied upon to stay healthy, we need someone who can still play when called upon, not a good cheerleader but crappy player like Scalabrine.

KT is the perfect backup big man, we should have went after him right away, showed him some love. What's the big deal if he wanted 2 years, it's probably veteran's minimum anyway?
We are missing a lot of layups right now as a team, and that is on me... It’s my job to make sure we’re ready to make our layups." - Thibodeau.

IF Battie & Powe don't resign, those are my top 2 choices

Nenad is my 3rd choice... he can shoot and he WILL Enforce :lift:

Didn't Krstic sign a contract with a European team without an out clause? I also remember him saying that he's done trying to make it in the NBA.

Quick thought: I can't wait to see Kurt Thomas and Marcus Camby on the court at the same time for the Blazers. That is an old frontcourt.

Battie, Ratliff, and Joe Smith all seem like good options to me.

Provided we don't have the injury concerns we did last year, the 5th big man won't see the floor. Cliff Levingston would also expect Thibs to have some more confidence in Asik this year than he did last year.

Despite what he tells the media, JR will NOT exceed the Lux tax totry to win a title

The players know this - the otherteams know this

He is passing on quality bench players over just a few million - but a few illio which would hurt profit.

They probably made about $81 million profit - which the investors (all non-basketball people) want for themselves. No eed to spend it on the fans or the team since seasontickets are already sold.

We will have roughly $3.5 M left after we spend on Rip. That's enough for 2 to 3 more players if we let Bogans go either by trade or opting out.

Love Big Sexy. He was incredible last year. How the heck old is this guy that he's getting 2 year deals? Jesus, he must be 60 by now. Hasn't he been playing since the ABA merger?
