Bulls have to match.

5 million for the 1st 2 years.

Match and trade him for something valuable.

I think that's the point though. You use the 15 million expiring to get another guy worth about 15 million.

K.C Johnson‏@KCJHoop

The $15 million in Year 3 is outrageous but have to look at average annual salary of $8.33 million

Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown

Yes, Marc Gasol was also in the deal, but at the time he was a late 2nd round pick who hadn't even played a minute in the NBA. He was thrown in as an afterthought, nobody involved thought he'd be anywhere near as good as he is.

If Bulls match, which Gar Forman has consistently said the Bulls plan to do, guarantees Boozer would be amnestied for 2014-15 season

we didn't need the Asik contract to know that much. But this whole situation with Boozer. Its such a bad deal for the Bulls to have made.

that's an easy match. it's sounds horrible cause of the 8.33 mil per but at only 3 years it's very tradeable.

If you're taking back $15 you're over the tax limit. You're in the same boat. However, as KC has already tweeted, we'd amnesty Boozer in Asik's final year which would give us the ability to stay under the tax limit.

Makes sense. Still a lot of money for our 4th big.

Why would the Rockets want to trade anything when they can just sign him outright?

Give me just one example of trade like that ever happening.

All the people who are so quick to say Bulls should match this deal will be when the ones crying when we can't find a legit Robin to DRoses's Batman. Let Asik go, he was worth a maximum of $4-5 mil per year an average of $8.33mil a year is downright crazy.

KC needs to proof read those. Doesn't guarantee that at all.

KC uses *if* for something coming up in two weeks that the Bulls said they would do, but guarantees something in two years when Boozer might not even be on the team.

JR is too cheap. He's not going to pay someone to play for someone else. He's cheap. Did I leave anything out? :o

because if we work out a trade they get Asik, if we don't work out a trade, we match and they get nothing. depends on how badly they want Asik though.

The door is open for future trades resembling the Brad Miller/John Salmons for Nocioni and Drew Gooden deal. Expiring and talent traded in exchange for years.

Brad Miller, John Salmons to Chicago For ... Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Ike Diogu and Cedric Simmons

All of the incoming players but Nocioni expire this summer.

Nocioni makes $7.5 million next year, $6.8 million in 2010-11, and $6.65 million in 2011-12.

Net cap movement for the Kings: +$3.2 million this season, -$10.2 million next season, +$1 million in 2010-11, and +$6.6 million in 2011-12.

With this deal alone, the Kings can potentially make a play for a $10 million free agent this summer, depending on Mikki Moore et al.

Nick Friedell ‏@ESPNChiBulls
Just got off the phone with @LarryCoon who tells me HOU deal for Omer would look like this: Year 1: 5 mil. Y2: 5.225 mil. Y3: 15 mil.

Because they can't sign him outright? The Bulls can match.

All the Bulls have to do is tell Houston "Listen, we're matching Asik so unless you want to throw us some draft picks or something, you'd better start looking elsewhere for a Center"
