At least they can shoot...

It's being reported that Pietrus is looking for a guaranteed deal.

Even so, Pietrus would have been an awesome edition (if healthy).

After Daequan Cook last year, no.

And especially with how injury prone this roster is, seems we need everyone eventually. Be good if they didn't stink.

Yeah, but what team has a 15th guy that kinda doesn't stink?

I guess we could always bring back Ronnie Brewer, if he's available.

And if it comes to a point where the 15th guy is needed to be heavily relied on this year, (especially on the perimeter where we have Rose, Kirk, Butler, Deng, MDJ, Teauge and Snell) I imagine we aren't going to have a very successful season.

Steven Jackson would also have been a better pick up imo...

If this guy pans out then this is a great pickup for the Bulls.

Over Paxsons tenure the Bulls have been bullied and intimidated by teams like the Heat, and Knicks, etc. We have a bunch of good guys with good character but we also need some guys who have swag and intimidate and irritate their opponents.

Those were some of the intangibles that Nate brought to the table, he wasn't going to back down from anybody and played with a swagger and attitude that made him a fan favorite.

Even Dennis was a headcase, but he would get his opponents irritated and get them off their game.

When other teams start taking cheap shots at Rose, you need a bunch of goons to go in there and restore the balance.
In Rose’s basketball mind, like most of ours, LeBron may be the sun, and in that the world and all other planets (players) revolve around all things LeBron, but to Derrick, Derrick is the universe. Greater than.

He's worth it if he can slide that leg under Lebron when shoo-uh, I mean...defend him...as well as he does Kobe.

@Ryu
If you have been a Bulls fan from the 90's than treat him like Bull fans did Rodman. If you just became a Bulls fan starting in the 2000's all I can tell you is that if he makes the team let the past go.

As a long time Bulls fan there was never any player besides Isaiah Thomas that Bull fans hated more than Dennis Rodman we got over it the first day he signed the dotted line and 3 titles later he is still loved

Well he's about 10 or so years in... And he's executed well beyond effectively in every system he's ever been in, including Popavich's last year. He's got to be the best all around player available because he probably ranks decently in best all around players in the NBA period.

Now if you want to talk about his character, that's a whole different conversation.

But I mean, if you're willing to sign Dahntay Jones...

So why is he hated so much?

He's a jerk type who was just taking part in (and enjoying) kicking Derrick's ass 2 years ago physically. That and he is always doing dirty stuff, like how he went under Kobe who was landing from his jumpshot.

He's in the same territory as Lance Stephenson. Type of guy you just want to knock the hell out.

We need some dirtiness and bullying on our team

I like it. Surprised he hadn't been picked up already. I mean I don't think he should see our rotation barring injuries/foul trouble but he's a nice guy to have on the roster. He's someone you could throw at LeBron or Wade for 5 minutes to rustle things up.

Well I hope it would work better than, "Rip knows how to get under Wade's skin."

Which in reality amounted to Wade pushing Rip down like he was a little girl, then going into beast mode on us.

If he makes the team it could make Kirk Hinrich expendable. Kirk's 4 mil per could prevent the Bulls from paying the repeater tax.

If you are playing dirty and able to escape the whistle, you are not playing dirty.
