Its actualy not, they say Gms in the lottery are extremely high on Mcdermott. I read that Mcdermot last no later then 10 because the Bobcats are in love with him. For comparison I read that most Gms have MCdermott rated above Stauskas and Harris. They say hes been dominating guys who are atheletic in workouts aswell. Any team that gets Mcdermott knows they are getting an Elite shooter that is a high IQ guy that can contribute from day 1.

if bobcats are in love then its best we stay away

when was the last time they drafted a good prospect? exactly

lol you do have a point there, but they did draft kemba who is pretty decent.

Personally I don't think Morrison is much of a comparison for McDermott at all.

both 6'8" 3 point shooting, big scoring white guys :dontknow:

McDermott doesn't remind me much of Morrison, but he does remind me of Luke Babbitt which isn't great either.

But comparisons rarely hold up, ultimately he is his own person.

How could we forget the incredible Alexis Ajinca?

Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

Trading up saves a minute amount of money around 300K I think. But it gives us a chance at grabbing a better player and saves roster space.

People know very little about Doug it seems.

Comparing him to Morrison and Babbitt is crazy.

His offense alone makes him bust proof especially under a coach like Thibs who will use him correctly.

His isn't a bad athlete.

Henderson & Walker are pretty good. I think Zeller will be very good as well starting next season.
Getting rid of Higgins helps a lot though.

With that said. No part of McDermott I want.

McDermott had more sustainable success as a shooter and is the more versatile scorer. We always looking for the easy way to label a guy, Doug is a good player who will have trouble defending anyone and scoring at the rate he did in college.

Well, Johnny, the combine numbers project him as more athletic than even James Young. I don't know if I buy that, but at least McDermott has it in him to keep up with NBA level athleticism. I still see this dude as more of a 6th man / microwave scorer who would hurt you if you keep him out on the floor too long. Hard to get pumped up over that.

The common thread with this (and all the other rumors) to me is that the Bulls like their core, but feel like they are two moves away from being where they want; Melo or Love being the big fish, and then a lesser deal for a shooter (Afflalo, McDermott, Stauskas, or Harris) being the other.

I like McDermott as a piece off the bench right away because he lets Jimmy play his game and projects to be a good shooter right away. And the thing is that if you are adding a stretch 4, (and the Bulls have 3 options there, Mirotic, Love, and Melo) having elite shooting in other positions becomes that much more critical, since you are switching to an offense that will create a lot more 3 point looks as a percentage of your overall offense. The difference between 30% and 40% shooting on 4 3pointers is 1.2 points, but 2.4 on 8 attempts.

Mcdermott at 8?

Well,

wouldn't that be Cleveland'esque!
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

which is why i called him a rich man's morrison
