I really like the idea of Pierce if Melo and Gasol fall through. He is familiar with Thibodeau's system and can add a little scoring on the perimeter. McDermott is not going to be ready to step in and play starter minutes. The fact they have depth out there with Dunleavy and McDermott means you don't have to kill him minute wise during the regular season.

Jimmy and Kirk (and Tony) are fine enough for me, as long as Derrick doesn't tear his other ACL or MCL

Ideally, I'd do a snell and a 1st (one of -sac's, cle's or our 2015) for mclemore from sac. He seems expendable now that they drafted stauskas. He has way under preformed in Sacramento. I think he just needs a change of scenery and a coach to push him.

I think they can get much better offers from a bunch of different teams for McLemore.
That said, apparently the Kings were high on Snell at draft time, so maybe they value him highly enough to consider it.
If McLemore was 'expendable', Snell most likely would be too, though. It's just a downgrade in prospects.

It's only been one year.... and there's no rush for him to be good right away in Sacramento. But drafting Stauskas sure doesn't help his case.

Probably Stephenson, Hayward is a better fit, but the Jazz will match.
Is a risky move, but it's the one I will made, but if you get him, either him or Jimmy should play from the bench.
Get a Center also, like Brand for cheap.
Rose-Augustin-Hinrich
Stephenson-Butler-Fredette
Dunleavy-McDermott-Snell
Gibson-Mirotic-Bairstow
Noah-Brand-Smith
That's a solid roster.

Lance obviously by a mile. Then probably a trade for Tyreke Evans or maybe Eric Gordon or Rudy Gay (though he'd play SF).

What about Parsons? Should we have interest in him, and could we afford him? I really don't know much about him, but I see people talk about him quite a bit.

Thibs seems to have this ability to resurrect players' careers ... I am aware of Turner's deficiencies, but he also has some qualities that would fit Thibs' system ...
I don't think he is a good locker room guy in general. He hasn't been particularly well liked at any of his stops.
The real question for me is:
Can Thibs improve Turner in the same way that he has improved Nate Robinson and D.J. Augustin?
The physical tools and the talent are obviously there ... He is still pretty young (25), and he hasn't suffered any significant injuries during his 4 seasons in the league ... If he is available on a cheap contract, I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on him ... A guard rotation of Rose/Augustin/Butler/Turner could be an interesting combination ...
the physical tools and talent AREN'T there though. he's an unathletic slasher. he struggles to turn the corner, doesn't get enough lift around the rim and doesn't have the length to make up for his lack of lift. as nba wings go, he's not very talented.

Not interested in Ariza, way too inconsistent overall as a pro. I guess the same could be said for Young, but I like his skillset better for another scorer.
I am with you on Nick Young.
Stephenson and Haywood are better players, but they will cost double the price.
I think Nick Young has some Jamal Crawford in him, and as such, i also expect him to have a similar price.
I'd give him 3yr / 18-20m, which is similar to what JR Smith makes annually.
Trade Randolph and Dunleavy for cap space and give the Swag 6m, Nikola 4m & DJ something like what Mills got which is 3-4m annually.
Rose / DJ / Kirk
Young / Snell
Butler / McBuckets
Taj / Mirotic / Bairstow
Noah / Smith
That's a young and fun exciting team.

nick young is a dumb ass who doesn't know how to make the simple play. his whole offensive game is predicated on taking contested shots. being able to make contested shots is a good thing, relying on them is not.
if the bulls aren't gonna get a "2nd star" then they should follow the spurs' model, which means no stupid players. nick young is stupid.

He's not a 2G but why not a Ramon Sessions and then get a cheaper 2G like Anthony Morrow. Sessions isn't much of a 3 point shooter but he can score and attacks the defense. With the shooters we should have in the 2nd unit we need to get a guard who can break the D down. DJ could always return as well but Sessions has more size.

We are negotiating with Mirotic. Good.
Here's what our team looks like right now:
pg: Rose, ?
sg: ?, Snell
sf: Butler, Dunleavy, McDermott
pf: Gibson, Mirotic?
c: Noah, Smith
...
Anyone else on another roster that interests you?
Aren't Anthony Randolph and Carlos Boozer under contract as well?
The more free agents out there aren't available any more, the more I like the idea to continue with Boozer. Overpaid: yes. Worthless: no!
On the open market he'd still find some team that'd pay him the MLE.
Let's further offer Augustin an extension under early bird rights and Hinrich something like 2 mio / 1y with a team option on a 2nd yers and we'd be an above 50 wins team.

My point is: why wasting our money on an 34 yera old guy like Gasol.
Let's wait for Love next summer and maybe some big fish comes along by the trade deadline. In that case Boozers ending contract could be very valuable.

Sessions would be a nice player to have.
