OT: TMZ - Rose being sued/accused of drugging and gang raping former GF

That's maniacal type of behavior right there. If it's true, there should be considerable amount of evidence to support her claims. If it's not true, this should be disposed of pretty quickly.

Right, this is like some Aaron Hernandez level crazy evil and that sort of thing usually has quite the tail of evidence. I mean, if this really happened it seems highly unlikely something didn't come out sooner somewhere.

I really hope this thread doesn't go into a bash fest against the girl.

Let the legal system play out and prove whether her allegations are true, or falsehoods.

To get in a bash fest pretty much will sum up why women are scared so often to come forward because of the backlash they will receive.

Although I will say, if these allegations are proven false, there needs to be a civil suit in the opposite direction. It's hard to get the term 'rapist' away from your name, even if you are cleared of any wrongdoing.

The bigger crime is if she is lying, not Derrick Roses reputation but how it will weaken the case of women who are actually raped. It damages actual cases. I have a friend who took on her rapist (campus policeman) and it was tough and it was even with multiple victims. Hell 20 years later she still at times can't have her husband in the same room as her. It actually took years to build a case.

I have six friends that were raped that will never go to court because of how traumatic it is and the shaming is so tough to swallow. Then you have the case of the who texted she was coming over for sex and then later claims rape. That is a huge crime because it dis empowers all actual victims.

TMZ reports trash but they have a lock tight legal crew who won't let them say anything that could get them sued.

I have no clue who is wrong in this zero all would be speculation but either way it is awful.

I have personal knowledge of someone close to me that has gone through this it is a long road back. I appreciate this post if she is wrong she should face criminal charges PERIOD.

I don't think either of those statements are accurate. First it allegedly happened 2 years ago. What "considerable amount of evidence" would be around even if it were true? The physical evidence would all be gone. No toxicology screen on the alleged drugging, no rape kit, no semen. Possibly no witnesses. Rape cases frequently amount to nothing more than he said she said, even when its reported promptly. And here due to passage of time, there will be even less evidence even if it did happen.

Second, its a civil suit. If she says he raped her, and he says he didn't, that right there is enough to make it last years and go all the way to a jury verdict. Her verbal allegation is sufficient for this to last a long, long time if she wants it to.

I would guess that she has some people in her ear who convinced her to make this public two years later, despite her likely having no real evidence.

Alleging that someone drugged you, tried to rape you without success because of your escape, and then broke into your apartment and raped you...is quite a story. It's something that would be really, really hard to prove two years after the supposed fact.

No power of subpoena right? I mean the most incriminating things would be emails/texts corroborating her story. Thing is 2 years later, most of the texts are probably long deleted by the carriers. Emails might still be available but there's no search warrant getting ordered here anyways.

I almost guarantee he pays her 500k to 2 million just to make it go away. Sad state of affairs IMO and I am not at all the type to side with the alleged rapist but this is just **** insane.

Guys TMZ is more credible than you think. This isn't media takeout or worldstar or anything like that. He is definitely getting sued. That is a fact. Whether the lawsuit is true or not is a different story, but just his name being mentioned in stuff like this indicates something wrong with Rose.

His narrative/story has changed so drastically. Unreal.

Tell that to the Duke lacrosse team. The mere existence of a civil lawsuit in this context does not, standing alone, say anything negative about either Derrick Rose or the accuser. The truth means that one of them sucks mightily, but there's no way to know right now which one it is. So you defer to the innocence of the accused until more facts come out.

You wanna let people live their lives and athletes entitled to spend their money as they wish and frankly, do whatever the hell they want to within the law, I get that.

But not every single athlete gets sued. You're all making it sound like it happens so often. It doesn't. Believe me, I understand the innocence until proven guilty but I've always felt Rose has changed since the 2013 sitting out stuff. Maybe he's getting older, fatherhood changed him, but he's definitely no longer a naive, innocent kid anymore.

1. Hospital records. If someone gets gang raped, there's a solid chance that person goes to the hospital the next day. Especially if she was allegedly drugged and didn't remember much of it.
2. Communications with friends and family members in which she stated that she was gang raped or drugged.
3. Communications with Rose about this incident. She is allegedly his ex-gf. What did she say to him after this incident? Did she continue speaking with him? Heck, was she even his ex-gf and what evidence is there to support that?
4. Where was Rose on the day this allegedly occurred? Unlike most normal people, a celebrity like Rose has his whereabouts pretty publicized.
5. She alleges that Rose broke into her home. Did she take any pictures of their break in? Were there cameras in her building?

When I said disposed of, I meant in terms of the suit's credibility.

Side note: It's odd that TMZ does not provide a copy of the lawsuit or even state where it was filed. The plaintiff or her attorney obviously must have told TMZ about the suit, which could seriously open them up to a defamation claim (like what happened in the Dwayne Wade lawsuit).

True there are gold diggers but the scream image didn't stop some priests from being monsters. By no means am I implying Rose is guilty but an image means nothing.
