Being forced into a role? There is reason why some guys goes 7th and other go 37th. It's ability to play in certain role. There is reason teams want draft high.

I am looking at you Patrick Williams. To me it's simply disgusting that for us 4th pick and 34th pick have similar value. That shouldnt be. Because if anything 4th pick can get you in some scenario a trade for a All-Star and 34th pick can only get you some cash considerations.

No point really debating it when we can just look at it. Here is a lengthy highlight reel from Ayo’s final year which appears to go game by game through the schedule (I only watched a few minutes of it).

It shows everything we see now, plus even more nice ball handling moves, his vastly improved court vision (which we have not yet seen in the NBA) plus his ability to go left (repeatedly) which has also been cited as a potential limitation in his game.

Ayo will be a complete NBA player. He won’t be a superstar, but he can do it all. And could already do it all even before he was drafted. We are not seeing anything new.

Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

He is playing well for the Bulls so far. But if he hits a rookie wall or just stops playing well. Its not really going to effect what happens with the team. Everything he is doing right now is extra. They don't need him to do anything to be successful. This isn't like Williams were everyone said they needed him to live up to the 4th pick for the Bulls to have a chance at competing for a title.

With all due respect, scouts miss on top tier talent falling in the draft all the time. Ayo passes the eye test so far and doesn't look overwhelmed, he looks like he belongs.

I agree. He looks awesome. As BD said last night, he has "it", and "it" here is a motor combined with a pretty good game sense. Motor is a hard thing to teach and acquire at the NBA level (some guys never figure out how to play hard let alone smart) so that gives him a good floor as a bench contributor. If he continues to improve his other skills eventually he could even be a solid starter.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.
