I'm at the point where I am fine with just blowing this up as long as the first move is a new head coach. Billy has no clue. For a coach who is supposed to be so beloved by the players, season after season he loses them as the season goes on.

Its probably been worse than that. And I have been a die hard PWill supporter. He is around 32% from the field this month.

I am done with him. This season was it for me. No more excuses with injuries, at this point this is who he is. Maybe he figures it out somewhere else, but whatever. This is the WCJ situation all over again.

If he can make it somewhere else good for him but I just don't see how he turns it around here.

Just bench Pat.

Start Matas, Start JP.

There is no way to justify Pat playing 27 minutes tonight. Matas only got 12 and JP 7. And its not this game, its been like this for over a month.

Since Covid I have been WFH. I watch at least two full games a day. Even the stinkers. I got 3 monitors and one is always a game, even split screen for watching 4 at a time w/ 3 on mute.

I can't think of another team that would want Billy as their coach. Maybe the Wizards. but everyone else has someone who has a clue or a culture or some sort of buy in from their guys. Even Billups, who stinks, has his guys playing with effort.

Then you look at teams like the Nets, who are trying to tank and can't because their coach raises their floor too much.

Billy is a "player's coach" who isn't even that good at being that.

Another loss as expected, they have absolutely zero confidence right now.The less talent the opposing teams have the worse it is for the bulls. Most of these loses are from bad teams and from teams that has key players out.

They are now hitting rock bottom. This can’t continue any longer. AK has failed with the team he put together especially Billy.

Billy needs to get fired right now, how can he keep his job after this terrible stretch ? If AK has any hope to turn things around first move is the coach.

Patrick has become a joke at this point. That fast break late in the 4th where he just lost the ball was just sad.

Why is he still playing meaningful minutes? Throw him out of the lineup and out of the team as well!

Even though if they do end up tanking on purpose he would be perfect to lose games.

Id advocate him to go into the g league just for the experiment of it all.

I honestly think he would struggle down there based solely on effort

Hey now, there were rumors that Presti was interested in him. I mean at that point you have to over pay the kid! :banghead:

And even if, make him fetch an offer sheet ! They made Zach do that and he had shown 10X more than Patrick thru his rookie deal.

Patrick Williams, asked where his confidence level is: “I got game.”

Billy Donovan on Patrick Williams: “I think he’s trying to be aggressive. He just hasn’t converted well.”

I couldn't watch much of the game because for the first time all season, my antenna was struggling to get a connection. Maybe I'm better off.

He does have game. Relative to the average human. Not compared to NBA players, though. That's an almost comical response.

I think demoting him to the G League would shatter what little confidence he has left. If it was anyone else, sure give it a try, but Pat seems very fragile and delicate mentally.

He's still playing, and will continue to play as long as he's healthy, because we just signed him to 5/$90M. If it was up to Billy I'm sure he'd banish him to the shadow realm, but I'd be surprised if AKME isn't forcing him to play Pat to save face and/or try to rebuild whatever value they can for him.

Whatever coach we replace him with will still start and play Pat. It's an AKME issue IMO, not a Billy issue, in regards to the illogical minutes for Pat.

I actually haven't disliked him nearly as much as I thought I would, but I couldn't really watch tonight so maybe he was terrible and I missed it.

Every season Pat has these lengthy stretches of play where he looks like a sub-G League level player, but this year it seems like it might be season-long rather than just a month.

Right now the Bulls would have the 9th pick (unless something changed after the lottery). Philly could pass them making it the 8th pick. The Blazers have 17 wins (Bulls with 19) so that's a possibility too. 7th pick isn't ideal, but not bad.

The problem is they needed to tank sooner. That is if they ever do it (I don't think they will). However, if they make trades maybe they'll get assets to work with...?

If this is who the team is from here on out (losing and looking defeated) then we won't have to worry about if we had tanked sooner. There are only a few teams who are trying to be bad. Even Portland isn't tanking on purpose.

If the FO makes a move and leans into the tank we are gonna be there.

I hope you're right and that they do lean into it.

The Wizards and Jazz will finish with a worse record. New Orleans, The Hornets, Nets and Raptors probably will too, but who knows. Zion's back for New Orleans and I think the Raptors might get a player or two back soon (but I'm not sure about that).

Return to Chicago Bulls
