We all know he is going to be overpaid. He may not get a max extension, not that he is deserving. But I'd be surprised if he gets less than 30 million per, hell, I'll go as far as to say that if this front office can get him to sign an extension under 30 million per, they deserve credit.

He may have his flaws and he may not be flashy, but he is a really good player for a young roster. He plays the right way, he plays hard, despite his flaws, and he is still extremely young and he is progressing his game. Perhaps he isn't a player you build your team around, but he is a great player to have to build a team with.

I highly doubt that. We’ll see.

I hope you're right, but I wouldn't be surprised if AK over pays Giddey. I doubt he learned any lessons from Zach and Patrick Williams contracts.

I’m afraid of that too. I would show that they are incapable of learning.

We need Phillips to practice dribbling with Dalen in the offseason

$16m

Get ready for overpay then if he plays like this for the rest of season. $20 million per minimum.

Giddey is way better than Patrick Williams. Zack deserved his max contract.

It has to suck to be a Sixers fan.

I thought after the All-Star break that the Sixers would ramp things up, but I think they are cooked. They just don't seem to give a crap. Nick Nurse is likely going back on the coaching carousel in the offseason.

To me anything, that doesn't involve an offer sheet.

The offer sheet is the market. We can then say, if that is an overpay for his services or not.

The NBA outta call this game for the sanctity of the league. It is literally a lay up line for the Bulls. Can't recall a team laying down like this from jump. Even the scrubs who need time. Can't gauge progress for Buz based on this.

Even with his current play I'd still be hesitant to give him a big contract. He could easily revert back to the player he's been for the past few seasons.

Exactly he’s only been doing this for a month. You would like a bigger sample size before you make a decision on him.

I think more important distinction is that this what Giddey does when you allow if you give him control of the offense. If you put on him off ball like he was in OKC last season and how was here most of the season he won’t produce.

The question is whether they think he can be good enough to warrant that kind of usage.

The part the everyone keeps on forgetting is that he’s only been doing this for a month. Mainly since the Zach Lavine trade. Which shows that he still can’t play with high usage players.

The other thing the Giddey fans forget is that he needs to learn how to play off ball in order to be a successful starter on a Good team.. Even a guy like Luka who’s way more talented than Giddey had to learn this. This is not sustainable winning basketball. Also his 3PT% will eventually go back down to earth. Let’s see how it works this.

Just because you overpaid one player doesn’t mean you do the same thing for another player. They are different players with different markets. Idk if Zach deserved it. He was an elite 3 level scorer that was average every where else. I just don’t see another team splurging on him.

Building a team of 9-10 "good" players makes me think he'll never learn.

If think he can shoot mid to upper 30s from three. He just needs shoot it well enough that teams can’t ignore him off ball. He is showing improvement and confidence with it. His form is still ugly, but it has gotten quicker.

They dont have another gear. Their gears are Embiid. And he isnt getting healthier. They dont have any defense. Their hopes every game is that Maxey gets like 35-40.

Zach and PW were also bad asset management. Once they signed their deals their value around the league dropped. How long did it take AK to trade Zach?

To his credit AK did trade Caruso before he became a free agent, but he did it about a half season too late (many people here wanted him traded sooner).

Next up....Coby and Ayo. Does he trade them this off season or just wait to over pay them? Although in the case of Ayo maybe he won't command a big contract?

Lonnie Walker has zero points in 17 minutes. What a bad signing he's been so far. I know he didn't cost much, but zero...ouch.

Anyone else enjoying Giddey-Huerter and Terry going off and thinking about how the rush to writeoff crews minds are melting

Return to Chicago Bulls
