instead of trying to compare his career to a specific player to determine his value, I’d say if hes a top 10 QB for majority of his career and can crack the top 5 for a couple of seasons in his prime, id be content.

mighty high bar. damn. a lot of #1 overall picks don't even get there

High bar but that’s the reality. If you aren’t scratching the surface of the top 10 your team is likely looking to replace you or shuffle you out for someone who has the potential to be that. Look up the top 10 list and check out the guys who fall outside of that list. If they have more than 4 years of experience we’ve likely heard those teams looking to move those players or they’ve been traded within the last two seasons already. At some point you better been recognized as a top 10 QB for multiple seasons to be considered a success. The bar is high but that’s why their contracts are high. And why damn near every new QB contract is setting the record for the “highest paid QB” until Mahomes came on the scene

carson palmer was never that, but that's why i brought up his name. he was pretty darn good for a long time. if you're not satisfied with that as a bears fan from a non-top draft pick...

You can make an argument prime Palmer was a top 10 QB in 05 and 06.. cracking that top 10 two to three times definitely gives you more rope.. but to answer your question that’s not enough.

Not sure what's going on there. But I know if I had just taken a year off, while the rest of the world including my team didn't, This would not be my tact.

Big D Nick Foles for a 5th or 6th rounded works for me. They need that veteran QB to help Wilson development.

He's garbage, I hope Fields doesn't save his job and we have to put up with his BS for 4-5 more seasons.

From the reports I read on today's action, Dalton actually was the better QB of the two. Maybe it's the fans who are automatically assuming that Fields is going to outplay Dalton right away who need the reminder...

I dont need a reminder. I need Nagy to stop pumping up Fields in the press ffs. The hell is wrong with this guy? He’s like a stripper.

To be fair, he's probably pumping up all of his players. Its just that the press is going to highlight anything said about Fields.

Sadly, the McCaskey family seems to be acting unlike people quickly selling the team with this. Unless the feel like pitting the team on the right track now is profitable down the line. The down the line part is the sad part.

I'm a 49ers fan, and I became obsessed with the pre-draft process after we traded up.

I wanted Fields or Lance, but more importantly NOT Mac Jones.

I think Lance got the edge because Kyle Shanahan got to see him run a more pro style offense, and he held the ball less than Fields.

In Ryan Day's system, Fields held the ball waiting for deep concepts to break open, and he took a lot of sacks as a result.

Lance is also kind of a Russell Wilson football nerd. He broke down NFL film during his redshirt season at NDSU. Quincy Avery (who coaches both Fields and Lance) said Lance is the best QB he's ever seen in terms of X's & O's on the whiteboard.

I think both QBs ended up in good spots.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

McCaskey's dont have the $$$ to build a new stadium. So this doesn't really change that dynamic.
