Uh? Except every rumor either way for all the teams has been said. So whatever they're trying to say is wrong.

I don't even understand the mentality of some of the Knicks fans in their forum, they're acting like Melo would be an idiot to leave the Knicks.
Why do they have such a high opinion of their team, have they not been watching their games the past 4 years or do they just believe Phil and his 11 rings will just magically solve everything?

So we should be expecting Melo's decision before 7pm tomorrow?

I really do not want to find out where Carmelo ends up while at work Monday. He needs to decide tomorrow or I won't get anything done!

"But according to several reports Saturday, the idea of Anthony signing with the Bulls is just about running on fumes.
Bulls sources were mum on any Anthony talk, but they have taken notice of the reports coming out of New York that Anthony is expected to accept the Knicks’ five-year,
$129 million contract offer by Monday. According to the Daily News, the one stumbling block is that Anthony is holding out hope that good friend LeBron James can find the two a place where the money is good and they can run together...
If Anthony flips the switch on popular opinion and decides to sign with the Bulls as a free agent — especially because attempts at a sign-and-trade have been turned down — the rights to Mirotic would likely have to be shopped, especially if Mirotic’s days with Real Madrid have ended as badly as reported and the NBA is his only option.
The team also would look to move Mike Dunleavy and the $3 million he has coming, which could get the first year of the Anthony deal near the $14-$15 million range. That figure is nowhere near what the Knicks can do, but is all the Bulls can muster with Rose set to make $18.8 million during the 2014-15 season, Noah $12.2 million and Gibson $8 million..."

I don't agree. Isn't that why the Deeks article is so important? Sham is saying we can amnesty Boozer while still being able to get Melo at a decent (from Melo's POV) salary via S&T. And by "decent", I mean more than 17M and less than the Lakers max offer, so 20'ish million?
17.4 million. And my opinion is that this simply isn't near enough.
Magilla_Gorilla wrote:Bulls can open up a little over 9 million in cap room by renouncing exceptions and amnestying Boozer.
Non-guaranteed + MDJ = 7.3 million
Non-guaranteed + MDJ + Snell = 8.7 million
Non-guaranteed + MDJ + Snell + A Randolph = 10.6 million
10.6 + 9 = 20.5 million starting salary
Bulls roster would be Rose / Butler / Melo / Gibson / Noah + Dougie, Cam-Bear, DJ (RMLE), Greg Smith
Magilla, did this end up being accurate?

Melo has no reason to keep a team(Bulls) that can't sign him for the max outright in the loop if all he wanted was the max from the Knicks

dibs. we got so down at one point and it was lame. we should've known it was coming. If he was in Town X for a meeting, we should've expected pro-Team X stories. All the meetings are over and the dust has settled, and where do we find ourselves? Reality; where the Knicks have a bad team and no concrete selling points, and the Bulls have the exact opposite.
I am very, very confident, and have been all along. Especially with each moment that passes that Melo hasn't accepted the megamax from NY. If that didn't get him, what else do they have to offer? Nothing.
I expect Melo to a be a Bull...tomorrow.

Also, can someone speak on the possibility of using Kirk Hinrich in a S&T scenario to increase the amount we can offer Melo?

I forget but why can't Mirotic just sign for his draft slot salary
You own his rights why do you have to use an exception, he should be an exception either way
