The Pelicans got 3 first-round picks + two pick swaps from the Bucks for Holiday, yet we somehow included a first-round pick in the Jimmy Butler trade. Let that sink in for a minute and appreciate how lucky we are to be free from the GarParx era.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to acquire Jrue Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans for George Hill, Eric Bledsoe and three future first round picks and two pick swaps. In terms of pick compensation, the deal is similar to what the Pelicans received from the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis.
Holiday is eligible for free agency in 2021.
Milwaukee entered the offseason determined to strengthen the supporting cast of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Shams Charania/The Athletic
Holy $hit! That's a lot for Holiday. They better have gotten a commitment from Giannis. Even with that, they're not gonna be able to do much else and Holiday is going to be up for a new huge deal. I think they could have done better.

Pax for Prez wrote:The Rockets and Trail Blazers are finalizing an agreement on a trade that will send forward Robert Covington to Portland, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (via Twitter). In exchange for Covington, Houston will acquire forward Trevor Ariza, the No. 16 pick in the 2020 draft, and Portland’s protected 2021 first-round selection, sources tell Wojnarowski.
Is this the start of the breakup or a precursor to a bigger deal for the Rockets?

I know you'll shoot me down, but I'll throw this out.
James Harden for Lauri, Coby, and Porter. Then we draft Toppin with the 4th pick. New lineup.
C. Carter
PF.Toppin
SF.Hutchison
SG.LaVine
PG.Harden
With the right bench, can that team compete?

So if Valentine and Mokoka sign (and I would if I were either of them), and we sign our 1st rounder, we'd have no roster spot available, right? (I mean, yes, we could have up to 20 players in training camp, but no more than this 15 guaranteed salaries) Not even for our 2nd rounder?
Man, it sure seems like we're shipping someone off Wednesday night.
Hmm. Well they can cut Felicio and then draft/stash a Euro or sell the #44 without doing anything else.
Kornet is disposable too.
Was hoping to see at least one used as filler in a consolidation trade.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
I think I have figured out the deal that makes sense out of all the rumors:
Bulls trade Lavine and #4 to Minny for #1, Jarrett Culver or Josh Okoge (young wing) and James Johnson (salary filler). Bulls take Lamelo #1, Minny takes Toppin #4 (who they are rumored to like but won’t take #1). This explains the Lavine trade talk and not picking up Dunn’s option in order to hand the keys to Lamelo.
I don't think I would do it.

That's because Gar/Pax spent 98% of their time counting all the $$$ they scammed off of the fanbase and 2% on actual Bulls operational work including picking up the phone and talking to teams.

This particular trade speaks more to Milwaukee’s desperation than its value compared to other trades. In a vacuum, Milwaukee gets murdered. If Giannis signs the Supermax after they sign Jrue and Bogdan, then it’s ok I guess, but still terrible value

That is a funny thing to note, but a little bit unfair. These kinds of deals didn’t exist at that time. After the Nets got burned by Boston, teams stopped conveying large amounts of picks. It’s only in the last year where deals are title shifting that you see these extremes.

Such a bold move, I'd go for it, always liked James Johnson,Okoge and Culver.I don't know if Wolves would accept this trade.

If the Bucks win the NBA this trade will paid itself.I like that kind of move,a win now move. The Bulls don't have stars but should go for trades,we should try some trade getting players like Harden or Westbrook. We won't go anywhere with our current roster.Billy Donovan can't improve this group ,we need to find better players and nobody should be untouchable by now.

If Giannis doesn't sign immediately with these trades, and the team struggles for any reason this year, and he leaves, they are so hilariously screwed. It is an incredibly nutso haul for a non-all-star.
