Listen, I am historically extremely negative on the Bulls and their decisions. I see a lot of the same posters who were always negative continuing that mantra. If you are hating right now you are simply hating for the sake of hating. The Bulls have four very solid players and their 4th best player might be the best 4th player on any team in the league. The Bulls are fun again, will be competitive and have attractive contracts that other teams will want. Look at the hauls Westbrook or CP3 got when originally they were deemed "untradable" contracts. If this doesn't make you trust the front office and the direction in general then I don't know what to say to you. If this team doesn't work I have faith that these guys can rework and always stay relevant / in the mix. Isn't that what the Heat have done for the last 15 years? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't --- but they are always in the game.

Great piont. You look at teams like LAL, the Heat, the Celtics, maybe the Spurs- they seem to almost always be relevant. Their down periods are a few years, not a decade. They are constantly trying to win titles. They don't just sit back because they have some nice players that are fan favorites, and could develop down the road a few years.

I mean that was AK’s stated plan more or less. He didn’t want to be picking high. He wanted to build a good team that can attract a name instead of lottery luck and losing your franchise player (oh Zion will you follow in the footsteps of CP3 and AD?)

This model guarantees nothing at all but the odds of making your luck are better with a good solid team than it is with bad teams praying for the ping pong ball and then praying they make the right pick that actually develops (looking at you Bagley). Better to be relevant. If we were a few years ago we are in AD’s list. Maybe KD looks at the Bulls if they are .500 team etc…. I don’t love the roster right now but it is vastly improved and we have movable pieces. It’s a big upgrade from the GarPax tactic, not sure it will succeed but at least AK is trying.

I don't get people who are mad about our recent additions. Did people really expect to keep holding onto hope that Denzel, Coby, Lauri, Wendell Carter, PWill, Paul Zipser, Hutchison, etc are just gonna magically all become all stars. Have to make some moves at some point, and save me from saying "well we could have gotten X player for way less than who we got." Things don't happen in a vacuum

Who never will be as good as Vuc.

Not saying it was the wrong move. Only time will tell. But acquiring a player in his 30s making a lot of money for the 8th overall pick is the definition of mortgaging the future. It could be well worth it! But that's just what I'm getting at.

Only if you think the future of your franchise hinges upon the #8 pick in the draft.

No it's not that. It's about getting a lottery pick that's manageable on a rookie contract for 4+ years that makes the future. Trading that away is mortgaging a (good or bad) future.

I will say I think we're seeing it's easier to actually move guys around and figure out cap space to get a player if they really wanna be here. I think AKME are going that route and want to show Zach and the rest of the league we're trying to win

For those upset about losing our first rnd picks, pretend they are Tony Snell, Denzil Valentine, and Marcus Teague, then take a deep breath and let go...

It will be interesting seeing these guys figure it out. Incredible moves on paper (considering the situation). In theory, we picked up a late/unselfish version of DeRozan; a more developed version of an unselfish Lonzo; Zach is putting in his unselfish dues on the USA team; Vuc was a system player to begin with; Pat's unselfish to the point of it being a problem. Donovan preaches 99% of your time is spent off-the-ball, making that your effort.

I'm optimistic that these "losers" (more-so victims of bad teams) will be put in a well-planned system to win games. Artunas wanted a pretty offense. We've got a lot of talented players and athletes who have one way or another acknowledged that they want to play the right way, a contrast from the way they used to play. A prime DeRozan and a younger LaVine wouldn't work, but they're different players with different attitudes today. Should be fun.

I do expect major bumps. Expectations are high, but there are a lot of B Chefs in the kitchen, and I can't think of the last time something like this was put together. There isn't a true alpha who could distribute the ball, but there are 4 guys who could lead a .400 team NBA offense. Maybe it will fall on DD to lead. We'll be running PnRs relentlessly.

Donovan needs to prep this team correctly. A proper training camp is going to be critical.

I wonder if this keeps williams out of summer league, so he can focus on the big squad, its (hopefully) going to be a long season

Not really, DeRozan was at 21ppg on just 15 shots a game last year. Top 25 in PER. Pretty damn efficient. PWill can get his touches.

Is this really newsworthy? Haven’t Paul Pierce and Rose been linked to gang affiliation? Kinda hard to avoid if you grow in certain parts of Los Angeles or Chicago.

Guys like this are easy to root for, glad he's on our team. Also, you make it seem like it's common to grow up in gangs, and end up in the NBA. Pierce, DRose, DeRozan, etc are living miracles.
