What about the Larry Johnson and Kawhi references, all jokes too? The Williams ceiling is just as high as Wiseman/Edwards/Ball?

I don’t know man.

It’s like Jordan and Air Bud somehow had a kid and named him Patrick Williams.

More like Jordan and Diana Taurasi had a kid. Or, really if we could meld MJ and Lebron into one player.. then we would have Pat Will.

Space Jam Jordan had sex with real life Jordan was my first impulse.

Doesn’t matter really, from this day forward I will refer to him only as BabyGOAT.

See I'm not getting the MJ comparisons, to me he's more Wilt/Larry Bird/Magic Johnson/KG hybrid

Great find.

His handles are coming along.

Also his shot mechanics looks really smooth.

A little off topic, but the past Bulls player Dickey Simpkins used to work out at the same gym as me. On the courts he would dominate the competition. This video kind of reminded me of that.

I knew who he was, but whenever I saw him I just left him alone even though I was a huge a bull fan. (This was a long time ago).

Dougthonus, I never met you, but know you're from the same area. Did you ever bump into him? About 20 years ago I used to see him all the time, at the local gym and in restaurants, and sometimes just shopping around your town as a regular guy.

Is hard not to notice someone of that height. The very last time I ever saw him was at a Hooters restaurant, on a lunch break from work many years ago.

After watching those videos, I’m curious as to why he did not start for FSU. I get it that they had five returnees, but Pat Will is the most talented player on that team as a freshman. Could it be Leonard Hamilton is hoping he’d return for his sophomore year much like Devin Vassell did? As a coach, I’d start him and utilized his talent regardless if he’s only a freshman.

By the way I’ve read Billy D likes him a lot, so I’m thinking he’ll play from the start.

I think Williams is still a project who will see limited playing time. I don't expect him to be a instant contributor this season. He will probably get limited minutes, and be plugged in within certain situations. "If" he plays well and is productive, He may earn more minutes as the season progresses.

I do not see him as a high usage guy in this next season. I feel he was drafted as a prospect, and will be developed. But who knows, a trade or injury may toss him into higher minute action sooner than I expect.

You're not wrong that you can't make huge judgements based on scrimmage videos which is why I was more focused on the way he moves, his handles etc.

I do hope he earns the minutes and produces. Playing behind a solid veteran like OPJ will help with his development. The pieces are there for him to be a star, but it’s up to him to put it together.

Good stuff!

That 3 ball and jumper looks a lot quicker.

Really liked those shakes and jumpers in Brandon Ingram’s eye. Trae and Don Mitchell in there too.

Yea, that's what I was thinking too. If OPJ is healthy this year, Williams will be a guy we can bring in for a few minutes at a time, and bring him along slowly until he earns more time.

With a young raw skill prospect like this, I think its best to keep them hungry if they are not needed right away. His time to shine will come.

I still do not know if he is SF, or a PF. If his defense is as advertised, he might be a guy who could spot fill minutes in both positions this next season.

Someone should start a poll, on how many wins the bulls might get next season if everyone stays healthy and the roster stays put. I'm thinking somewhere in the 36-42 range. With 42 being the best outcome, and just squeaking into the playoffs for the first time in several years.

72 games. Not 82. 42-30 would be 3-4th seed.

I’m thinking 36-38. I think you will some teams stealth ya k since the draft will be so good.

This is the deceiving thing about college ball. His FSU tape, Williams looked like a butch Zion or Dray.

Alongside NBA players, he's got similar size and movement to Kawhi, George, Lebron, Jimmy, Brown, etc.

I like the size and speed, I just felt his handle was a bit basic. But it's hard to judge from clips like this because it's a pickup game where no one really tries hard on defense. But the video is encouraging for sure.

College is a different game for sure. some people own that game and fail in the NBA. Some people own the NBA as unearthed gems from college. I’m sure scouts identified skills he can learn, and projected him on the next level. The Bulls will prob bring him along slowly and let him do what he knows how to do and wont ask for more until he’s ready.

Agreed, and I'm optimistic about this pick because of our revampved coaching staff/developmental team plus it seems like Williams is coachable.
