Well, actually, I am. I don't know what his wingspan is, but it doesn't seem great. I included him in the group though because he seems to be consistently mocked as a lottery pick, so I assume his strengths are outliers enough to cover up for his weaknesses. I was deferring to consensus opinion when I included him with Eason and Williams.

If (Mark, right?) Williams falls I'll be stoked, he'd be a great back-up and maybe eventual starter, his size and length is pretty awesome.

Agreed. He's at the top of my list for guys who will probably be gone by the time we pick, but am holding out hope might still be available. I like him a lot more than Duren. Unlike Duren, Williams seems to play with a lot of instinct, which is a great sign for someone with his size and role.

Eason I'm having a hard time getting behind, but would not be upset by getting him, especially if PWill gets moved.

I dunno, I really like Eason. Don't think he'll be there, but he seems like he could easily take the spot of Javonte, DJJ or Troy Brown. Similar player archetype, but more talent. Kind of reminds of a non-crazy Ron Artest.

@MadManLeaks: From Adam Spinella on intel that he’s hearing

“Eason is not impressing during the interview or film sessions of his meetings with teams. There’s a growing sense that his lack of feel is indicative of a fairly low basketball IQ.”

I'd still take him at 18 :dontknow:

You take him at 18 only depending who is left on board. At that point gambling cost you nothing.

or someone has been whispering in his ear, telling him to look bad to get him in the right position? wouldn't be the first time something like that happens.

how can there be raving about a prospect and a few weeks later it's all moot?

so many here where hyping him up only a few weeks ago? what do you say now?

Jeremy Sochan did himself a huge favor skipping all the measurements at the draft combine. I'm putting this here to say he's not a good basketball player or NBA prospect. He would have been exposed as an undersized mediocre athlete had he competed at the combine. Hopefully he goes early so the Bulls don't have to regret picking him.

I’m really hesitant to draft a young combo forward with “defensive potential” and a slow release who averaged less than 10 ppg in college considering I haven’t been real enamored with the last guy we drafted with that profile.

I'd be really surprised if that was the case. Looking bad in interviews purposely to slide costs him more money. For instance if he drops from lottery to late 1st round, that's millions of dollars. Easier explanation is that he just lacks basketball IQ. That's not hard to believe. Lots of basketball players excel to a level based simply off physical tools. We drafted one instead of Lamarcus Aldridge. Coincidentally he was also an LSU player.

A risk which I'm definitely much more willing to take at 18 than at 2. But yeah, a risk nonetheless.

Yeah definitely. 18 is a great place for low risk high reward. I wouldn't hate it if my other targets are off the board.

I still wouldn't buy Sochan as a shooter but this is a surprising stat.

One of the players I'd like in our range:

Mock has Duren dropping and being selected by the Bulls. What a steal that would turn out to be.

Cool.

If this is true then Tari Eason has a great chance to be available for us. I met plenty of people...PLENTY..who talk a great game, but when it's time to put up or shut up, with their actions, they don't deliver. I also met plenty of people, who don't do interviews well, but when it's time to deliver, they execute well.

Film sessions/interviews still do not mean much to me.

Dan Marino was straight up stupid in his Wonderlic test with his score of 16. I took that Wonderlic test and I scored in the high 20s (28-29) and Dan Marino is by far the Ultimate Master QB that I am. Lamar Jackson scored 16 on his Wonderlic and he's a NFL League MVP. Derrick Rose had a lot of "Ummmmmmm uhhhhhhhhh" in his interviews. Brett Favre didn't even know what a Nickel defense was. Young Michael Jordan had pronunciation probs with his words.

Return to Chicago Bulls
