https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45908900/2025-nfl-season-positional-group-best-worst-quarterbacks-cornerbacks-receivers

Bears rankings:
QB: 20th
RB: 21st
WR: 7th
TE: 6th
OL: 3rd
Interior DL: 18th
Edge: 24th
Linebacker: 11th
Corner: 8th
Safety: 8th
Overall: 8th

Can't say I know anywhere near enough about the NFL to know how good or bad any of these rankings are for various units, but feels like the the author sure thinks Caleb has a lot around him including a great offensive line and receiving weapons. Certainly we seem to have a QB oriented coach as well. If these are rankings are even in the ball park, then if Caleb has it, he should show it this year (barring injuries of course).

How could that possibly happen though, with all the disasterous things you say are going on in the organization and the team?

The team was 5-12 and went on a 10/11 game losing streak to end the season and didn't adequately address the most important position on the OL.

I think Poles is bad and have serious doubts about Caleb in general and don't really think he's a natural fit for Ben's offense. I hope Johnson can get through to him and he's our franchise QB for the next 15 years, but it's not a foregone conclusion that this will happen.

I think the Flus thing was weird last year for sure, was talking more along the lines of Trubisky / Fields development. Those guys stink, I don't think we were different organizational planning away from them being good.

With Caleb, jury is still out. Certainly hope he proves to be good.

Every year there's a QB who goes from a bad situation and establishes themselves in a good situation. 2022 it was Geno Smith, 2023 it was Baker Mayfield, 2024 it was Sam Darnold and this year it's going to be Fields.

If you go out and buy a plant but have no idea how often to water it because it's just a stupid plant and why would you look up the vital details to keep this plant alive and it dies, who's fault is it that it died? You or the plant?

So they got a new center (who was the most highly coveted player at his position in free agency) and two new guards (one of which is a likely HOF'er, the other a former pro bowler),(not to mention a new WR, a new TE, and a new RB, but that's not good enough, because they also didn't get a new LT, even though the one they have is at least average? That's ignoring all the positive things, and focusing solely on the negative, which isn't even all that negative.

I'm excited to see how today looks. I hope **** looks ironed out and good but I'm not going to be making excuses - the vultures are out and ready to start being extremely harsh on Caleb if it doesn't have things pointed in the right direction. Not saying I think it's right that they will be.

3 steps pass. 3 steps pass. Easy reads. Play calling that makes sense. Only preseason but encouraging. Exactly how you want Caleb to start

Braxton Jones and Newman on the left. Newman looks bigger than I expected.

This tight end duo could be a problem

Best thing about the drive was how quick Williams was getting the ball out

Just saw that Washington has Brian Robinson on the block. I’d would definitely swap roschon and a fifth for him

Don't know enough about NFL defense. How much defense are the bills actually playing?

I’ll add that it was very impressive how fast our TEs got deep down field.

They're not playing their main guys but they're playing guys they're interested in.

I don’t know if the Bills did anything different, but the second drive shallower game didn’t look as good. And Odunze drops a ball, Caleb gripped the ball too tight on a checkdown

I'm worried about the Bears defense. Don't know if they have the defensive front to play this much man on the back enf.
