This reminds me of Peyton Manning's free agency. At each team visit, the other teams' fans would get pessimistic and worried about immediate agreement on a deal. Then reports came out that he would sign with Tennessee and Broncos and Cards fans got all nutty. Then the 49ers came in and people were so certain that he was going there. Broncos and Titans fans were cursing him for all the drama. Then he chooses the Broncos and it turns out he had really been wrestling with the decision the whole time.

If Melo's already made a decision, there's no reason to drag it out now that he's attended all the meetings. Relax. He probably still isn't sure what he's going to do.

Nevermind. Apparently it is. Melo coming here still gives him the best chance to win tho.

For a sign and trade?

Mirotic, Dunleavy, Snell, non guaranteed contracts, SAC pick, and 2015 Bulls pick that is really Cavs lotto protected.

@FisolaNYDN: Carmelo was always confident the Knicks would offer him the max. Which they have.

Source: Melo did not give the Knicks an answer or a timetable tonight. He will take the long weekend to think things through.

It's going to be a very long weekend

As far as the Knicks, if they did not allow a sign and trade, then good luck having agents bring in clients. This is why sign and trades always happen.

@IanBegley: If he re-signs with the #Knicks, I wouldn't be surprised if Carmelo Anthony ends up accepting less than the maximum contract he was offered.

So much for him using everyone for leverage to get the max. It was in the bag all along.
