<start rant> This is taking so damn long due to collusion. Somebody needs to man the hell up and think for themselves here in regards to where they want to damn play. All this waiting around to see what player X is going to do first is pathetic. It's stuff like this that makes me agree like hell that the military should get paid more than athletes. I know we're in the superteam era but damn! Also, the '03 draft class (just Lebron, Wade, Bosh and Melo) are the softest (mentally) mf'ers to ever come in the league...by far...BY FAR </end rant>

Just a thought I had last night, what would people think if in the next CBA teams were limited to one max contract per team? The only way you could have two would be through a trade, no S&T. That way players who want max money are forced to look at smaller markets in FA and could even out the competitive balance? Also, it would force players to consider taking less money to team up? Just throwing it out there to see peoples opinions?

I believe a month or so ago he told Melo to "run from the Bulls."

I think that was Chris Webber.

I don't know that I believe that.

I think I prefer the NFL where players are nothing more than scraps of meat, and no one player can shut down Free Agency.

You're right, NFL FA is a much different animal. Money is spent much more wisely, and teams/players come to agreements super quick it seems like, at least at the beginning. We haven't had **** happen yet.

But we've heard Melo shouldn't take too long, and we know he's already had all his meetings. Just, logically, it should end for us soon. I guess we'll see if everything really does hinge on Bosh, in which case it could be longer, but part of me doesn't want to believe Melo would take the easy way out like that. F that ****. F Miami, man.

The moratorium period is just torturous. I mean, does everyone really need 10 freakin days to think about what they want/are willing to do? Grrr.

That was Chris Webber. Barkely has said in the past that Carmelo would be a perfect fit on the Bulls. Also said him joining Lebron and the Heat would be a travesty for the NBA.

Spending money unwisely on who exactly? Rose? Yea, just tell the youngest MVP in league history that you're not going to give him the max, see how that pans out for you. Noah? At this point he's underpaid. Taj? Adequately paid, and from rumors Melo wants to play with him.

I hate the fact that these radio guys can criticize the FO without any repercussions.

On here? We've talked about their value in the S&T scenario. Pax did great set up on that front.

On a national level? Because it requires a basic knowledge of the CBA and acknowledgement that a S&T will get Melo his money in Chicago- both of which appear to be impossible to expect from "media experts".
Honesty is my only excuse.

Just do away with max contracts all together. That would take care of the problem of stars playing together. Think Melo would go play for 15 in Miami if he could make 30 in Chicago?

Agree 100%.

Even if we don't end up with Melo, our front office has done a great job to put us in a situation to be able to bring in these Max players, with a boatload of talent already on the team.

Why? Anthony Bennett, Dion Waiters, Varajao, and 2 1st Round Picks isn't enough? I would take that offer over most.
I know Bennett had a bad start but he was coming off an injury.
Varajao could be moved for a 1st Round Pick
So a 2013 #1 Pick, 2012 #4 Pick, and 3 1st Round draft picks?

Cleveland would be scary good. Irving/Wiggins/James/Thompson/Love

Yeah, the average poster on this site knows a lot more about the NBA than guys like Carmen and Jurko.

And outside of KG, Pierce, and Ray doing it in Boston, It's just ONE draft class that's doing it (2003). Crazy.

Windhorst coming up next on ESPN1000. Probably will say if he thinks the Bulls still have a chance. He's the guy that hyped up the Bulls before FA started.
