I’m anchoring on the “Zach lavine and four quality professionals” theory. Any four and you have a playoff team. I mean, look at our starting lineup other than Zach...Gafford? Valentine?
Come on, AKME. Don’t waste this mans talent.

We aren’t Los Angeles and never will be. Our best best is get good trade for a star or sign one to pair with Zach. We aren’t starting from scratch. It’s just not happening. That Krause two full boats thinking is delusional. It has never worked for us.
And we aren’t shopping LaVine so a strong offer means nothing. We are not looking the best deal available. Just accept that he is part of our future and an all-star!
Brooklyn and the lowly clippers did it. It's possible. Theses weren't the Knicks and Lakers.
I just think the team and outlook outside of Zach is bleak. Wasting away Zach isn't going to get us anywhere. I'd really love to maximize our pick and use him to add another and some assets. I just can't see us being anything more than a 1st round exit. I'd rather have AK do what he does best and draft us some guys.
I think you've been living a pipe dream. We have no real assets to trade for a star and who is the superstar in the next couple of years who is even available to sign? We're just going to be a 35-42 win team with Zach.
I never said we would do it. I said it is our best bet. Sorry I’m not interested sucking for next 5 years. If we are not good it won’t be because Zach is holding us back. I think banking on signing two stars is what has proven to be a pipe dream.
This also means you think Williams will be a bust correct?
I think getting a couple of lotto picks this year (maximizing our own and getting one for zach) and some additonal assets will make us better in the next couple of years.
I don't think he's a bust but he doesn't look like a star. Who knows what he'll become. He's a rookie.

You would be okay trading Lavine for a single lottery pick? You are joking right?

And you don’t know what any of those draft picks will be. More Carters, Markkanens and Whites. Giving up a really good proven player for a few more pulls makes no sense.

I wonder if Dallas fans are talking about trading Luka for some lottery picks because they are 13-15 and were just a 7th seed last year. He hasn't proven he can get them a title.... Or are they coming up with crazy trade ideas to get him another star.

You mean they aren’t blaming him the disappointing season so far? It’s not his fault Porzingis is injury prone and looking like a big disappointment?

And who is this young player that is a lock to be worse then Lavine.

LMAO at comparing a guy who has never won 30 games or made an allstar game to a young superstar who led his team to the playoffs in his 2nd year and nearly averaged a triple double. Hell rookie Luka led his team to 33 wins. That would be a career high for Lavine.
Common now.....

So you would be for trading Luka or Lillard or Jokic because MJ, Bron and KD aren't walking through that door. If you dont have a top 5 player in the NBA you should be trading for Lottery picks hoping you land a good one in a draft with not just a can't miss prospect but a once in a generation one?

What is the cutoff point for getting rid of player because they aren’t good enough? Good question. Answer however good LaVine is.

You're comparing Zach to real stars who've lead their team to the playoffs and are all nba players and (2/3) to playoff success to a guy who has never won anything. Never even won 30 games in the league.
He's not a top 10 player. Those guys all are.

He is most definitely is a real star. You don’t put up his numbers without elite talent. You just won’t acknowledge it. He will get that first widespread acknowledgment of stardom with his first all-star nod next week.
Yet his team has about same record as Luka’s Dallas. Better than Beal’s Wizards. All you talk about is the past. Head stuck in the sand on the present?
You actually believe you should ship off any player that isn’t a top 10 player? This is getting absurd. Abs just the most lazy, doomed to failure way of thinking about team building I have come across. Just sit in the lottery forever and pray for a miracle. That is your plan?

So which is it. MJ, Bron or KD or a top 10 player? It sure seems like Luka, Lillard and Jokic have no shot at winning an NBA title with how things are right now. But seems like you would keep them? This current Bulls team is in playoff contention something we haven't seen since 2016. So odds are good Zach is going to finish this season as an All-Star and decent odds the Bulls end up as a 7-8th seed. And that is without having anyone else like Luka, Lillard or Jokic have.

Goal posts will keep moving more. Chances are Jokic, Booker, Lillard, etc will never lead a team to championship and should be disposed of for assets immediately. Also the Bulls will never win more 42 games with Zach on the roster. Two years ago I’m sure it was Zach will never be an all-star.

Luka is clearly another talent level, but I can't seriously take the Bulls record when we were actively tanking for picks against Lavine. When we hired a coach whose main job qualifications was that he was already paid for and didn't have to move.
This would be like blaming Dwayne Wade for his 15 win season when Miami was tanking for the Rose/Beasley draft. Or Pau Gasol for his 22 win season in Memphis. Or Paul Pierce for his 24 win season in Boston for the KD/Oden draft. All 3 guys went on to championships. I think a team has to not be intentionally losing games to hold a lead player responsible for losses, and the Bulls have clearly not been trying to win since we traded Butler.
This is the first year the Bulls have actually put some effort into winning by hiring a winning VP, GM, and coach. Bulls still aren't very good, but headed to a 36 win season while Lavine has been surrounded by 4 guys who are bench players on most teams.
Lebron James had better players around him in LA, and won 37 games. I can't hold Lavine to a higher bar than Lebron with any seriousness.

There are never any concessions made for LaVine. Plenty of excuses allowed for everyone else. He should carry this group of bench players to playoffs. They can’t be rational and win this argument.
