Wonder what Ewing, Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Wilkins, etc would all pay to get a ring....or two, or three?

"Melo, here is 130m, all for you, homie".

I just wonder is Phil giving him the max because he wants to do it or because Dolan wants him to do it?
Losing to get high draft picks and hoping they turn into franchise players is not some next level, genius move. That's what teams want to happen in any rebuild/tank or whatever you want to market it as.

Then why is he taking all weekend to answer. He could give an answer and end all this.

He might just love soaking up all this attention. Teams still trying to call him, getting begged. He probably loves all this drama. Who knows.

I'm not giving up hope. I still think we are the favorite until told otherwise via Melo signing with another team.

Exactly.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Remember lebron had his whole decision thing and crap but it's obvious him, bosh, and wade had something in the works for months.

Did something bad happen today that makes everybody think Melo is going back to the Knicks outside of the 5-year max being offered? Missed all the updates today.

It's nice to know that NY allegedly wanted a commitment tonight and he didn't give it.

To be honest, if his mind really wasn't made up, a decision would take some time. Sure there's the whole winning vs money argument, but there's also all the things behind the scenes. His life, his wife, his kids, and so forth.

It could end up being winning vs money + happiness of kids and wife. Not saying they'd be unhappy in Chicago, just that they could be happier in NY.

The players association must love all these guys taking paycuts. Should do wonders in the next CBA negotiation.

if i had the money melo has and could be anywhere in the world doing whatever i wanted, why would it be on an airplane or in a conference room? and to be propositioned by people i have no desire to sleep with while i pretend to be interested? sounds like a pretty uncomfortable situation

@Chris_Broussard: Source: Knicks will not meet with LeBron's agent, Rich Paul. Knicks didn't seem to have the means to clear max room for LeBron
