That's great for us, but why exactly would Philly consider that? Bayless on an expiring has a bit of value in his own right....

No he doesn’t. Expiring contracts themselves have no value (unless they are unguaranteed).

We look at value differently. He can be a trade filler in a high salary trade for a star, which Philly should be looking for currently.

At the very least, the main point is that a guy like Bayless certainly isn't going to put Philly in a trade down spot, to get out from underneath his salary.

Does Robert Covington and Dario Saric get the Bulls 1st (8th Overall)?

No.

Covington would hurt future flexibility for attracting max level FA's in a couple of seasons. Mikal Bridges would fulfill the same needs and be on a more fitting timeline for the Bulls, all on a rookie deal.

Saric does not fulfill any needs for the team. Portis and Markkanen are already at that position.

Bayless, Saric, 11th pick for Bulls Portis, Holiday, 19th pick

Bulls move up to 11th which gives them more options in the draft. Mikal Bridges/Zhaire Smith, Bridges/Carter, Carter/ Smith, or even packaging 8th and 11th to move up. Also small ball with Lauri/Saric would be amazing. Both can shoot pass dribble and attack the rim and would not give up size. Bayless would be a great backup expiring PG.

Portis gives 76ers a solid young stretch 4, Holiday is a good backup SG/SF who hits 3s and is expiring (4m) and they keep a draft pick.
This more importantly gives 76ers more cap room for there FA run at Lebron and others this offseason.

I guess I don't see why the Sixers would do this. I think most people feel Saric is superior to Portis, and 11 is much higher than 19. I know they'd like to unload Bayless, but I can't imagine they'd give up this much to do so. No brainer for the Bulls though.

Not a Bulls fan, but trying to get a feel for what the Bulls are trying to do this off-season if some one or a few of you combined could let me know a detailed breakdown of what they’re likely to do this off-season.

It sounds as if they're not going to do anything drastic. They've already said Lauri, Dunn, LaVine, Portis, and Valentine will be back.

It has been rumored that Bagley is who they're most interested in out of the draft. No idea if they can move up high enough to get him. Doubtful without moving something out of that group obviously, because the Pels pick likely isn't moving you far.

About the only trades I can see is Lopez and Holiday. Maybe absorbing a bad contract for future picks.

But I'm not sensing any major FA moves or anything.

What would you expect from a Lopez or Holiday trade?

It'd depend on whether we're taking a multi year bad contract back. If that's the case, you'd have to get some sort of 1st(s) for Lopez, dependent on HOW bad the contract is you're taking back.....

Holiday doesn't make enough money to warrant that on his own obviously, so if you're taking back a bad deal for him, I'd say a couple of 2nds?

If you're trading them for straight value, I'd say Lopez is worth a couple of mid 2nds. Maybe one high 2nd instead. Holiday is probably worth a single mid 2nd?

I don't know for which player/s I'd do it...but to me we need to get one really good player in exchange for Pels pick+Holiday+Grant

Let's say we end up with MPJ. Would you guys then consider to make a trade with whatever team drafts Mikal Bridges and include LaVine in that deal? We obviously have to sign LaVine first, so it would be a sign&trade. The idea is that you get your scorer in MPJ, and you don't need another ball dominant player next to him. Mikal can defend and make spot up shots, so he's a perfect fit next to ball dominant players.
Better believe it: Ryan Arcidiacono is the point guard of the future.

What does this mean? He's under contract for 2 more seasons (a horrible one @ $18M per year).

That would be great! But doubt anyone trades Bridges for Lavine. Maybe if Lavine didn't have to be paid yet, but not when you immediately have to pay him. But you nevertheless know. Lavine is a superstar (atleast in his mind he is) :D

Sign and trade Zach Lavine to the lakers for Luol Deng and their unprotected 2019 pick. Lavine makes me nervous and that guy on the Bulls making 20 mil a year is no bueno. Deng’s contract is toxic. Give the Lakers a “name” to add while relieving them of $36 mil of dead weight. Surely that’s worth at least one unprotected first.
