The best thing about trading for Watson would be that we wouldn't have to upgrade the oline. With his mobility, he can negate the BS Leno and Massie bring. Plus, no matter how much we hate them, this oline would easily be the best oline watson ever had.

Pace still being our GM for this draft and offseason is so crushing as a fan. That press conference with Nagy was embarrassing. But onward we must go I guess. I will laugh if the irony stars align and Pace sells the farm for Watson though.

if we traded for watson it would be for years down the road, not for next season. even if ryan pace might be naive enough to think otherwise

every team has about as much cap space as they want going in to 2022 offseason if they cut everybody now

I'd probably do that. Rather give up Mack than 3 more firsts.

i don't know how much of mack's $26.6 mil cap hit can be eaten by the bears, but needless to say his contract is an impediment to him being traded

Looking at Miami's draft capital compared to ours, I don't see how we get it done.

I do like the Minshew idea. The Bears were one of the two teams to interview him before the draft and John DeFilippo was his OC his first year in Jax.

This Packers team looks like a super bowl squad. I could see them winning it all.

At this point, I hope they win. I would love a packer beat down by the bears, but it’s much less satisfying if mahomes beats them down. I want the divide to continue to get worse between bears and packers, and hopefully force a change from mccaskey down.

We are going to be mediocre to sucky next few years. Anything that can help change that faster, I’m in favor of.

I don't see anyone in the NFC beating GB. Not only is Rodgers healthy, but their defense is playing well, and their O line is also very good, which allows them to run the ball a lot.

I think BUF-KC will be a great game, providing KC wins today. BUF is a very well rounded team, and their defense is really good.

I agree. my pre-playoff prediction was KC - GB for superbowl. 41 - 31 KC wins

So will bold Pace pay 3 first round picks for Watson?

Minshew? Cost a 3rd?

Carr? Cost a 2nd?

It almost feels like they have to go for Watson. Will he want to play in the cold? That is yet to be seen.

Watson is going to cost way too much.

I like going after Stafford. Had another really good year, and will be much cheaper, not even a 1st. Watson will cost 3 of those.

No way DET trades Stanford to rival Bears.

I’d rather go for Jamies Winston as a FA if we can’t get Watson. Keep all our picks. See what he can do with a running game and defense. He’d at least be fun to watch. Lots of big plays and turnovers. You’d have to think being in NOLA behind Brees has helped him.

I can see Brees retiring and Winston taking over though.

I think Fins or Jets will pay for Watson

Miami could easily just give Tua and the 3 pick and that’s probably enough. Certainly much more than anything the Bears could offer short of a hilarious amount of picks.

I would take Carr in a heartbeat. And in fact it's probably a much better value if all he costs is a 2nd rounder.

Tampa is beating GB next week.

And Minshew at 677k/year for 2 years is really enticing to me.

And, you have to pay him. And Stafford for that matter. The loss of cap space and picks will hamstring the team for a very long time. If you trade picks, you trade them to move up in the draft for a QB. That way you can still build out the team while the QB salary is low.
