I have come to the realization that Bosh going to Miami would help the Bulls land LeBron. This would almost kill the Knicks chances of getting LeBron because the best player they could pair him with would be Stoudamire. I think LeBron is smart enough to realize that Amare and him going to New York would still not make them championships favorites. Teams like the Lakers and Magic would dominate them in the paint. Now some would say that this opens the gate for a possible LeBron-Wade-Bosh team in Miami but the recent reports make me believe that LeBron and Wades egos are too big for each other.

So with New York and Miami out it turns into a two team race with the Cavs and Bulls with the field(Wizards, Clippers, Mavericks) in a distant third. This is a good thing for the Bulls because unless the Cavs pull off a miraculous deal the Bulls will have the better roster to put around James. Really the only thing the Cavs will have over the Bulls is the whole Loyalty factor. While this may come into play I feel LeBron is to worried about his legacy to let this cloud his judgment. Also the Bulls will have sign and trade opportunities to add a second big FA, presumably Joe Johnson would be a leading candidate.

So as much as Wade has angered us, and how awesome a LeBron-Bosh-Rose tandem would be I think Bosh to the Heat would be a good scenario for the Bulls

My hope for this being true is buoyed by the fact that I just dont think Bosh is as good as people say. For the money these guys might all be paid, Boozer/JoeJ/Lee are perhaps better options for the dollar.

Could be. I just don't believe LeBron is going to the Knicks, regardless of other factors. He'll stay put before going there. But sure, Bosh to Miami renders LeBron to NYC dead.

I dunno, Amare, Boozer, and Lee aren't that far behind Bosh. Lebron might not be pinning his hopes of teaming up with another free agent solely on Bosh.

They are all older, and generally not as appealing as Bosh. I can't fathom a scenario where LeBron goes to New York with one of those guys.

My biggest fear is Bosh going to the Lakers....

Because....if we don't get Bron....we are not getting Bosh...

Which is fine...but....if Bosh goes to the Lakers, that basically means Amare or Boozer is going to the Heat. And if Amare does not opt out, that means Boozer to Miami, and Lee stays in NY. That leaves us fighing with NJ and NY for Joe Johnson......which means over pay or get left out.

Also....Bron can help us quite a bit...but we will see if he does or not. If Bron comes out and is strong about Chicago....stating that basically he is coming here regardless of who else comes....it makes it easier for us to trade Deng...because we can take the position that we don't have to move him. I also won't mind if Bron pushes a 3 year deal with a 4th year option.....because it takes any type of S&T away from Cleveland....which again gives us more leverage. "Take Deng and these two picks....or lose Bron for nada....either way we are getting him...."

Good and bad. Good in hurting New York's chances of landing LeBron, Cleveland's chances of landing LeBron(the threat of the enemy re-enforcing,) and el to the o to the el at knicks and raptor trolls, . Bad in the creation of a super team in the East, and significantly lowering our chances of landing Chris Bosh.

Let Bosh go to Miami. If we are getting LeBron, I'd rather have Lee anyway. Let me count the reasons:

1. Lee is almost as good as Bosh.
2. Lee costs signficantly less than Bosh.
3. Lee will not require a S&T, thus allowing us to keep more assets.
4. Lee rebounds and plays p'n'r almost as well as Bosh. Bosh is better at creating his own shot, but this skill is less important if we have Rose and LBJ.
5. Lee does not need to have the ball to be useful. He is a great offensive rebounder, which will be huge if we get LBJ.
6. Lee has less of an ego, and thus is likely to be more willing to accept third banana status.
7. Lee strikes me as more willing to work hard at defense under Coach Thibaaaaa
8. Adding Lee creates a natural pecking order in terms of salary (once DRose gets paid) that matches skill. LBJ is 1; DRose is 2; Lee is 3.
9. We can clear enough space for Lee by only trading Deng. We would have to trade multiple pieces to clear room for Bosh.
10. Lee has more range on his jumper, and is reportedly working on his 3 pt shot this summer.

I think that is probably enough.

Cliff Levingston has always been of the belief that we only get one max free agent this summer, i.e. not being able to trade for another. Cliff Levingston also used to think that the best case scenario for us to secure Bosh would be for LeBron to stay in Cleveland. Seems like it's the other way around now for Bosh going to Miami.

ICLO, New York is seemingly only a threat for both Bosh and LeBron, but not both. If Bosh likes Miami too much and signs before LeBron, it basically forces LeBron to team up with Boozer or Johnson in New York (Stoudemire is probably a no there considering his rocky relationship with Dan Tony). Would LeBron really want to lean on either of those two older guys rather than going with Rose, Noah and Deng in Chicago? Cliff Levingston would have to believe he wouldn't.

The really good thing for Chicago would be for Toronto to trade Hedo Turkoglu very soon for crap or cap(space). Then Toronto could really use Luol Deng and we could set up a deal to trade him plus Taj and maybe a future draft pick for Bosh, effective July 1 or 2. Miami probably couldn't beat that deal, since Beasley would be a terrible match for Bargnani (unless Miami were to swing Beasley to a 3rd team and give Toronto something that the Raps want more than Deng + Taj).

Then we would go to Lebron at 12:00:01 AM on July 1 and say, hey look, we've got Bosh lined up. If you sign with us you'll clearly be the top dog, 'tho you won't be making the highest salary over the term of your contract, and you'll also be on the best team. Rose + Lebron + Bosh + Noah = championships. So let's do this thang.

That would be a good thing for the Bulls.

If Toronto does trade Hedo by or at the draft it might even be a inkling that the Bulls are the team on Bosh's 'list' that BC could push for precisely because he knows he could get Luol, who Colangelo has always seemed to like.

Of course, they need to trade Hedo either way, he wants out and doesn't work there, so it wouldn't mean anything was cooking necessarily, but as you said, good in any number of ways.

Out of all the team's on the list at that point, would be hard to imagine any other could return them a starting SF *and* PF (Deng and Taj) which they would be needing both.

Same here. I kept thinking back to when Dwayne Wade teamed up with Shawn Marion. It worked out ok for them and Marion wasn't really with them for long... but it got me thinking, how much different would it work out with Chris Bosh? I know Marion and Bosh are different players but is the gap that wide? Bosh is the best player on a mediocre team. Could his value be overstated just a tad?

I definitely think one first tier free agent (Lebron) supplemented with a second tier free agent (David Lee) is absolutely the way to go if we can make room for both salaries.

And David Lee practically has "Bulls" written all over him... College teammates with Noah, insane work ethic, major hustle guy... all he needs is time with a solid defensive coach and he should improve in that area.

Let Bosh go to Miami. That team has way too many holes for both him and Wade to fill and not enough salary to go around.

Provided Toronto can move Turk (and that it isn't for a SF like Noc!) I think Deng and Taj actually could help them quite a bit and be a good fit for that Raptor team. They need hustle rebounding and defense, and those two can bring most of that.

It wouldn't equal the sting of losing Bosh, but they certainly wouldn't fall completely to the bottom of the barrel.

Being a Heat fan I'll have to throw out another obvious possibility that hasn't been stated. Many are automatically assuming Lebron would see a Wade/Bosh team and look towards the Bulls so that he can compete. What's to say he won't just join the Heat too?

When it comes down to it it'll be: Rose/Noah vs Wade/Bosh that he would see. Which is the better combo?

I think the only thing that Bosh to the Heat does is improve Lebron's chances of leaving Cleveland, but to where is not certain.
