What a difference great Coaching makes when you Compare the two Turkish Rookies, watching the Cleveland game Erden looks like he is out of place can't set screens and looks like he doesn't know his left from his right. Asik has been dominating rebounds, blocking shots, setting great picks, playing great defense and one of the top defenders of the bench mob.
Will Erden be better than Asik in the NBA?

Doubt it, back in Turkey Omer was an MVP.

erden's definitely the more skilled player right now. asik's more athletic, better defensively with more potential.

Ya I think Omer is just a more talented player. Didn't Asik get like 24 blocks in one game in Turkey?

I think Erden is slightly more offensively inclined while there isn't really a comparison between their defense.

Meh!!! Right now I'm happy, that Omer is in Chicago!

He owns the record (19 blocks, 3.2 bpg) for Euroleague's Top 16 stage, which consists of 6 games. At that point, he had scarcely played in Euroleague competition.

Relatively speaking, Asik is very inexperienced in basketball. He's already an elite defender on a top-5 NBA team. Erden is an NBA-caliber talent, hard-working and very skilled, but Asik has the leg-up on coaching and potential.

Watched most of Turkey's World games this past summer because of Asik, but saw lots of Erden.

As a NBA prospect, I didn't think it was close. Erden was more offensively skilled, but Asik had Erden in every other category. Erden will be a decent NBA journeyman. Asik will be a NBA difference maker.
