Bulls Situation
- Rose, Boozer, Deng and Noah will combine for 57.1 million in payroll in 2012-2013
- Derrick Rose new contract will now start off at 17.4 million instead of 14.5 million per the new CBA.
- Derrick Rose contract can be extended 5 years rather than 6.
- Our Mid Level Exception is $5 Million for 4 Years. Moving forward, we will only be able to use the $3 Million MLE if we don't reduce payroll
- Amnesty Clause is good for 6 years; 10 years if the CBA is renewed
- The ability to S&T for a Superstar is still allowed
- Superstars teaming up is still allowed
- Chicago has the MLE, bi-annual and veteran's minimum exceptions are at their disposal
- If we are going to sign key free agents, this maybe our last offseason to make a splash before our payroll increases enormously preventing us in the future from spending as much.

Weird that "owners won," yet they're giving out a higher BRI than last time. Players really must have caved with those system details.

I think players got the 49, or so it sounded on ESPN radio just now.

That is what Broussard said yes. Doesn't make sense but we will see if it's true. He may have made a mistake in what he said.

or rather, it was said that the players will get a band of 49-51. I read that to mean that they get a minimum of 49% and if revenue is high enough they get 51%.

These NBA players are not too smart.. weeks ago said no to 50-50 and even a 51-49 split & now give in to a 49-51 split in favor of the Owners .. smh

Hopefully players get some of the provisions they wanted back in return..

I like the extreme tax they are implementing at 85 million. That's a good number.

Will the owners throw the players a bone with the Age Limit? Mega Draft next year?

They will continue discussions on that tomorrow. Sounds like they are close to the point they would pick those details up tomorrow.

If it's a 51-49 band, that's pretty much the same thing as 50-50 except probably even better for the players because I can't see the NBA NOT continuing to grow.

- Players agree to 51-49 Split (ESPN Reports Players Receive 49% over 57%. Improved Profits Give 51%)
- Agreement still pending, need to write the agreement out.
- High spending teams lose advantage
- Luxury Tax is harsher (Extreme Tax at 85 Million or Higher)
- Draft, sge limit, drug testing) to be discussed on November 27 onwards
- No hard cap

Wait FA and Training opening on the same day? That doesn't sound too fair for the players who don't sign quickly. I would think FA would at least open a day or two BEFORE training camp.
