That's a great point. Miami liked to go small yesterday with Lebron at the 4. It's really tough to guard, but we'd matchup well with the lineup you just suggested.

For everybody that don't want JR because he is a bad guy. Please stop it. JR can get his own shot against anybody and he is fearless. We only have 1 guy on the whole roster that can do that. How many times are we gone have to fail before you people realize nice guys get left empty handed in the playoffs. Derrick needs help. Not the help he can get from Lu or Booz.. He needs somebody that strikes fear into the other team and JR as streaky as he is can do that.

I've been saying this is possible for months. Smith could probably be had below market value short term. The Bulls might have been reluctant to go all-in with Smith, but with Hamilton secured you can take a risk on a guy like Smith, who, whatever you may say about him, would definitely be putting his money where his mouth is if he signed. That right there is a pretty big sign he's serious about winning a title.

is bill russell not a nice guy? magic? bill walton? i'd rather lose with good guys than win w/ miscreants

no opponent loses sleep over jr smith. sorry. his own coach might though

we've got 2 SGs, at least one of which is better than jr smith

I think Deng is necessary in a Rose/Howard foundation. Hopefully we could get away with keeping him.

He's not a bad 3pt shooter. Not great. He is the very definition of a streak shooter but finds ways to score if his shots not falling because he's so athletically gifted with his ability to attack the basket.

pretty sure he is a career 37% 3 point shooter, yes he can shoot the 3.

I think if the Bulls are talking to JR Smith, it means they're probably going to pursue Howard.....it would probably mean Deng+Noah+ whatever for Howard.

I just want competitors. I don't care if they're nice, mean, smart, dumb, slow, fast. Whatever. As long as you're here to compete for a title and your work ethic mirrors that sentiment.

This game tonight was a good example of where JR would fit in quite nicely. You want to double Rose? Fine, give it to JR and he'll make something. It's not some awkward give it to Noah and and have him awkwardly bring it up and attempt a clumsy pass to Boozer under the basket or Brewer behind the arc.

Granted, if we have a HEALTHY Rip and Deng, these problems are a little less noticeable, but right now we don't. IF you can get JR for a bargain-basement price, you get him. If he doesn't work out, you cut him. If he does work out, you have a GIANT headache for Miami.

I watch JR Smith last season and I gotta say his defense might not be Booze bad but it's not great, however the dude can score and when he's hot you can ride him. Presently the Bulls don't have an ace like that.
