That, of course, would be if the Bulls decided to start anew and provide a new and different kind of cast to play with Rose. You could get two players for someone like Noah to replace Noah and get a guard. Maybe Atlanta with a sign and trade for Kirk Hinrich and Marvin Williams; Charlotte for B.J. Augustin, Gerald Henderson and B.J. Mullens, Houston with some package including Kyle Lowry and Courtney Lee; New Orleans for Trevor Ariza, Jarrett Jack and one of their lottery picks; Denver with Wilson Chandler and Andre Miller or Arron Afflalo; Minnesota with Luke Ridnour, Derrick Williams and maybe Anthony Randolph or Wes Johnson, though they’d need something back like the Bulls’ No. 1 pick.

It’s usually the losers who provide the trade field with the biggest names being speculated upon these last few weeks also including Andre Iguodala, Pau Gasol, Al Jefferson and Rudy Gay.

Forget Carlos Boozer. The Lakers have zero interest and would take Lamar Odom back before taking on Boozer’s $47 million remaining. Or maybe Smush Parker.

Yes, the Lakers probably would love to also have Richard Hamilton to make the deal work as their bench is so weak and he is a longtime competitor of Bryant from their Philadelphia prep days.

The bold part is for Red . Looks like Smith is on the same page as you, just swapped Deng with Noah...

I think I'd be all for a Deng and Hamilton trade for Gasol. Pau can play C and play along side Boozer and those two can hold the fort down until Rose comes back and when he does that's a nice offensive punch Rose-Gasol-Boozer. Carlos is overpaid but IMO is a great #3 option that will still give you 15 and 9. People can hate his contract but if we got a 2nd scoring, I don't think many could say Carlos isn't a good #3. Also with Gasol and Boozer, there's a good reason to keep Asik. Gasol, Boozer, Asik and Gibson is some front court.


I love Noah a lot but with that deal Noah can fetch you 2-3 good players to fill out your roster. I think it's something to look at. If we did Deng & RIP for Gasol and followed it up with the Hornets deal, look at that roster come March

G-Rose/Jack
G-Lamb/Butler
F-Ariza/Butler
F-Boozer/Gibson
C-Gasol/Asik

So basically you're trading Noah, Deng and RIP for Gasol, Jack, Ariza and the Hornets pick that allows us to land Lamb.

Yeah, these trade ideas border on the bizarre. You can't put boozer and gasol on the same roster, financially or in terms of playing styles.

I'm over the whole Gasol to the Bulls idea. He will be 33, and is making 33 mil the next two years. Is Boozer/Gasol any better of a combo than Boozer/Noah?
